Uh oh, found an engagement ring!

Name change… but yep as the title says!!!

I didn’t open the box but I really want to go back and open it. I can’t contain my excitement and I had to tell someone but didn’t want to ruin it by telling anyone in real life 🤣

Eeeeeeek now I just have to wait and wait and wait!

Also - it could be weeks or even months away yet. My DH had a ring for ages because my best friend got engaged, so he wanted to wait a while rather than look like he was copying!

Very exciting though!

If you’ve not actually opened the box how do you know it’s a ring? Might be earrings?

How do you know it's an engagement ring if you haven't opened it? It could be earrings or an empty box and you've got all excited for nothing.

I was looking for something else in his office and found it at the back of one of the cupboards. It was in a bag plastic postal bag that looked like it could have random stuff in and there was like a big leaflet letter style with the name of the diamond company on (a shop we went window shopping at in Dubai last year) and then next to it was a white box… not a ring box but almost like the box a ring box would come in. I panicked and shoved it back and now I can’t stop thinking about it! How long do I have to wait 🤣🤣

It might not be but it’s been nearly 10 years and he has said some things lately that make me think it’s all it could be. He’s also never bought me jewellery in 10 years so would be a very extravagant first purchase!

It depends - how are you at managing your expectations? Would you be gutted if it were a necklace/earrings? How would you feel if you got to the summer/autumn and hadn’t seen the box? How would your partner feel if you had opened it without him knowing?

My oh didn’t propose for months and months (almost a year) having had the ring in the house. I stumbled across it and I freely admit that I tried it on on a couple of occasions..

I am quite thorough 🤣🤣🤣 DP was in hospital and needed his headphones so I rushed home to get them, got the headphones in the car and realised they were nearly dead so went in the cupboard of “crap” looking for a charging wire I don’t recognise so was frantically rummaging through bags and boxes thinking he must have just shoved it in the cupboard somewhere and closed the door!

I’ve honestly never been suprised by anything in my life, I’m always the one who can tell when people are planning something or pretending and I’m actually really gutted I’ve ruined it for myself. I wish I didn’t see 😢
