So last weekend I was getting my hair cut / colored by my usual lady. My husband was supposed to meet me but we were running a bit behind, so he came in to wait for me.

He’d never met my hair dresser before. They started chatting and after about 5 minutes she was laughing at almost everything he was saying. She then walked past him and started to tell him how nice he smelled. I thought it was quite flirty, especially as they didn’t know eachother.

I asked him if he thought she was attractive after and he said he didn’t, she ‘wasn’t his type’. That evening I noticed they were following each other on Instagram. Isn’t that strange?

He said he knew the name of her Salon and was just ‘following another local business’. He did go on to say she watched all his stories. She has a boyfriend btw.

Am I going over the top thinking it was a bit too flirty between them both, and strange they follow eachother?

peachystormy · 24/01/2025 14:17

Bloody hell the balls on the pair of them. No I would be raging it's inappropriate as hell and I would be changing hairdressers

JustFeedMeCake · 24/01/2025 14:17

Wow. That's not on, he looked her up specifically.

BellaPizza · 24/01/2025 14:18

Yeah i would think she fancies him and he likes the attention so encouraging it.

MaryGreenhill · 24/01/2025 14:18

Oh dear l think there was a mutual attraction and you need to change your hairdresser.

MaltipooMama · 24/01/2025 14:25

I would have not only thought that the flirty exchange was really inappropriate, but also them following each other on social media is taking the absolute piss!

Thisisthemomentforchange · 24/01/2025 14:47

Is you DH in the habit of copping off with other women while you are sat there watching?
Does he have form for behaving inappropriately with other women because this is not normal behaviour for a married man.

Annie216 · 24/01/2025 15:03

He said he’d followed her on socials for a short while but didn’t even know what she looked like, he just knew she was my hairdresser. I’d spoken about him to her briefly beforebut nothing personal. Just if we’d got upto anything. She made a comment about him going to the gym aswel which I thought was a bit odd.

They're definitely sniffing around each other. I'd be changing hairdressers.

josa · 29/01/2025 07:34

Time to change your hairdresser!! Very inappropriate behaviour from both of them. If this is out of character for DH I would maybe just change the hairdresser if this is typical of him I would change the husband too.

BuildbyNumbere · 29/01/2025 07:42

Not right at all and no need to be following her … especially if she doesn’t do men’s hair. Are you sure they haven’t met before?

boredsh1tl3ss · 29/01/2025 07:45

Very inappropriate and not ok.

I would keep an eye on that!

Oh dear l think there was a mutual attraction and you need to change your hairdresser.

How will that help? Surely a discussion around boundaries or how it makes her feel?

SnappyDenimHedgehog · 29/01/2025 07:53

I'm sorry as soon as she walked past him and sniffed him ,I would have been right In there with OY! crossing a line Miss, out of order,do you want to be paid for this haircut.

Newfoundzestforlife · 29/01/2025 07:54

Definitely pay attention to your instincts here....

Twaddlepip · 29/01/2025 08:00

You can see exactly when he followed her by clicking on the three dots next to her name in his list of followers.

Moanyoldmoan · 29/01/2025 08:15

This would send my mind racing. To do that in front of you, what does he do when you aren’t watching

margeyoursoakinginit · 29/01/2025 08:17

Sounds like they had met before to me.

Owly11 · 29/01/2025 08:18

Wtf?! Never mind changing hairdressers time to change husband.

Lurkingonmn · 29/01/2025 09:11

If he followed her on socials for a while but didn't know what she looked like- had she been watching his stories then and knew what he looked like? Could the comment about the gym be flirting or had they crossed paths there maybe?
I think it's a bit weird the follow each other but if there was no interaction on there I wouldn't be too bothered. Watching every story might mean she's on her phone a lot/he doesn't post often or something else? So could be something or nothing.
Their intrraction in front of you seems ballsy/flirty but if you didn't address it at the time they might've thought you realised it was just joking around- or one or both are interested.
Either way, talk with your husband.

I call bullshit on that. Why would anyone randomly decide to follow their wife's hairdresser on social media? If they used the same hairdresser, maybe. When he'd not had any kind of previous interaction with her then absolutely not. I'm not on Instagram (it's associated with too much of this stuff for my liking), but is there a way to see the date he allegedly started following her? Then you'd know whether it was genuinely before he came in and openly flirted with her in front of your face.

sarah419 · 29/01/2025 09:37

Absolutely no need for the follow online.

ThatMerryReader · 29/01/2025 10:03

Yes, they are testing the waters see how far they can take it.
Time to line up the ducks.

I’d be changing husbands as well
