So last weekend I was getting my hair cut / colored by my usual lady. My husband was supposed to meet me but we were running a bit behind, so he came in to wait for me.

He’d never met my hair dresser before. They started chatting and after about 5 minutes she was laughing at almost everything he was saying. She then walked past him and started to tell him how nice he smelled. I thought it was quite flirty, especially as they didn’t know eachother.

I asked him if he thought she was attractive after and he said he didn’t, she ‘wasn’t his type’. That evening I noticed they were following each other on Instagram. Isn’t that strange?

He said he knew the name of her Salon and was just ‘following another local business’. He did go on to say she watched all his stories. She has a boyfriend btw.

Am I going over the top thinking it was a bit too flirty between them both, and strange they follow eachother?

Its impossible to say from your write up alone, to be honest. If your husband and hairdresser are just very friendly people, you go every week, he may assume she is essentially a friend, etc, then no, it's not completely wild. Maybe he followed her to book you in for a Valentines beauty session, for example.

BUT, you can't convey levels of appropriateness to us on Mumsnet here. This is 100% a "trust your gut" scenario. If your spider senses tell you it was unacceptable, then it was. But you need to nail down what exact behaviour was unacceptable (example, if they alluded to something sexual), then talk to your husband about it. Convey what exactly was inappropriate about their interactions and set your marital boundaries for the future.

Sorry but isn't there more to this than meets the eye?
