So I had a really bizarre conversation with my husband the other day and I don’t know what to think of it.

Basically he said every guy has a women that he secretly fancies the pants off, that for 1 reason or another, he hasn’t managed to get with. And they would pretty much risk their marriage / relationship to sleep with them.
He said name any of his friends and he could tell me who theirs were.
I asked him if he was trying to tell me something, and he said he didn’t have 1, and then changed his tune saying most, not all men do.

What the actual hell? I know it’s quite juvenile, but now I have in my head that he’s fantasizing about another woman. I don’t even understand why he would tell me this even if it was true.

What is wrong with him?

I'm sure I remember hearing about a man on the radio who said he would risk his marriage to sleep with Katie Price. When he got home he found out his wife had sold his Lamborghini on eBay for £1.

StrawberryDream24 · 23/01/2025 13:47

I would imagine he's refering to himself, he's got verbal diarrhea/mentionitis.

He's back tracked because he realised he was putting his foot in his mouth.

I just find it ridiculous. Is a 5 minute fumble in bed with another woman worth risking your marriage for?

Quite a few of my friends and work colleagues had this, someone they fancy but would probably never get the chance with. A lot of it was just fantasy like famous people but some had people in real life. Some do and some don't admit it to their partners.

If my husband only lasted five minutes in bed I'd be looking for a way out of the marriage anyway.

MorrisZapp · 23/01/2025 14:29

How long is a shag meant to last, ideally?

He obviously lasts longer than that. I mean if he was with a women ‘so amazing’ he’d risk his marriage for.

He sounds like an arse. I would be very unimpressed indeed.

That sounds like the perfect response from his wife. 🤣

Served him right.

The poor bullshitter with issues...

Why would these men have got married to someone else if they had another dream woman in mind?

Maybe ‘out of their league’, or maybe they were already in a committed relationship?

Generally it’s ok. He doesn’t really speak about other women, which is why I thought it was strange that he randomly just came out with that.

I would be quite upset by this on a couple of levels:
I dont think I would want to know how he and his pals discuss women and sex, and obviously cheating on their partners.
And it definitely sounds as though he has someone in his mind that he would cheat on you with. Possibly someone in his every day life.

frozendaisy · 23/01/2025 15:25

What a load of bollocks
His mates and him might all have “yeah I’d do ‘er” fantasy conversations, and think that the lucky women would fall back and open her legs should the opportunity arise, but not all men have “a woman they would risk their marriage/relationship” for. A very small percentage at most.

Hope you said “ha ha in your dreams you and your mate’s fantasies will remain just that. But let’s have a go, is there a man I know, should the opportunity arise, quite literally, I would risk our marriage for? Mmmmmm there must be one, men and women aren’t that different we all have needs and desires darling. It would definitely be one that didn’t spout bollocks about fantasy marriage destroying shags that’s for sure”

Please say you said something like this OP.

When men decide to spout bollocks like this, to make you insecure, try harder, question their loyalties, my advice, fight fire with fire, go hard or go back!

My DP and I joke about this often. His ‘free pass’ is Scarlett Johannsen. He was a bit put out when I told him I wanted my free pass to be Colin from the Accounts Department at work.

Joking aside, I wouldn’t be bothered if it was some fantasy celebrity, but if it was a ‘real’ person like the neighbour or his mate Barry’s girlfriend then I’d be pretty unhappy.
