Is a guy’s zodiac sign important to you?

Hey ! I don't really believe in compatibility or astrology in general and never ask guys about their zodiac signs, but I'm starting to notice that something matches the description of the signs. What about you? Is it important to you?

No. It’s total bollocks.

Oreyt · 08/01/2025 13:19

100% me and dh and our kids cut our signs. We aren't really compatible.

Oreyt · 08/01/2025 13:20

But I wouldn't let that affect being with someone no.

Zonder · 08/01/2025 13:20

No because I'm not 13 and don't read Jackie magazine any more.

elfnumber1 · 08/01/2025 13:21

Defo something in it imo but if you like someone, I wouldn’t base much importance on their star sign.

DramaAlpaca · 08/01/2025 13:22

No!

FeelingSad2024 · 08/01/2025 13:23

No because it's not real

I've realized that I've been liking and attracting certain signs my whole life, so I'm starting to think that maybe it's not such a bs :)

I don't take much notice of star signs, except I would never, ever date a Scorpio. Also for those that think it's bollocks, I discovered an odd trend which I don't take as gospel, but it's interesting to me.

Back when dating apps started to become popular (and there still was a significant group who saw it as some kind of personality failing to 'need' to use them), my matches were disproportionately Capricorns, who are usually quite shy and introverted supposedly, the kind of person that getting to know someone online first would appeal to. This is especially noticeable when compared to say bolshy Aries (me!) or Leo... These two were a very very rare occurrence on the apps, presumably because we were arrogant enough to believe that we can find a relationship if we want one just by chatting someone up in the supermarket, and we don't mind joining hobby groups with strangers etc.

I think it's fine to notice and be amused by patterns (even if somewhat driven by confirmation bias) as long as you're not religiously being dictated to by horoscopes and excluding certain star signs just because they're not the one that some random website says is your perfect sign match.

No. And I would dump someone who thought it was important on the basis he is obviously a weirdo.

IfUCantDance · 08/01/2025 13:30

It frightens me that people who believe in this shit are allowed to vote.

Well , I came to the conclusion that I really like only 3 signs: Scorpio, Taurus and Capricorn. I don’t know why, maybe it has nothing to do with astrology , maybe just a coincidence

Nope not at all. I mean if someone believes in it then no issue with that at all it's when people use it as an excuse for crappy behaviour is when it grates on me

Do you say the same about people who believe in God? I don't believe people who say 'Oh I've had a shit day today because Mercury is in retrograde' or whatever, but I don't see the harm in the OP.

Been married over 20!years. Don't know what sign my husband is. That is how much it doesn't matter to me.

It all BS.
My ex was a cancer, he was a selfish, narcisist, probable sociopath and incredibly emotionally, verbally, financially and sexually abusive. He had this ego that everyone else existed to serve him, that he had to ultimate right to take whatever he wanted, without consent, his only care was his own wants.

My fiance is also a cancer, and hes kind, gentle, loving, respectful and treats me like a queen, they absolutely could not be more different. He always puts me first and values my feelings and wellbeing above any want he has.

evtheria · 08/01/2025 13:41

No, and it would probably put me off if star signs really mattered to him.

I do. Because when someone is saying they are only compatible with someone born in one of 3 months of the year, it doesn't make any sense. I don't believe in any gods either, but at least the concept of why some people do makes sense from a historical perspective before wider scientific understanding developed.
