What is this??

Ladies please help me identify this partial packaging!

I'm pretty sure I already know what it is, I've used enough of them, I just need to be 100% sure.

I wasn't sure which section to post in so I hope it's ok in here!

For context, I found this on the bedroom floor after my partner left for work. It isn't mine and if it is what I think then he has no need for one.

What is this??

We're all thinking pregnancy test kit aren't we?

Mrsttcno1 · 16/08/2024 14:21

It looks like a pregnancy test wrapper to me?

Myfavouriteflowers · 16/08/2024 14:25

I agree. Pregnancy test wrapper.

Imapebble · 16/08/2024 14:27

@Mrsttcno1 @LaraThot that's exactly what I'm thinking 😔

We've had a very difficult couple of years and I've been ignoring my gut that there's more to our problems.

There's absolutely no reason we would have a pregnancy test in the house. The packaging was on the floor where he got dressed and got his work bag ready so quite obviously it has fallen from his bag/pocket

Thank you! I tried to search but couldn't find a match

Why on earth would he have that though?? I honestly feel like I'm going crazy

Could be used to test for ovulation?

Olika · 16/08/2024 14:41

I agree with @LaraThot it's menopause test wrapping. I suppose you need to ask him. I take it he hasn't needed it for himself so ask him whom it was for.

mushpush · 16/08/2024 14:41

I mean regardless of it being an LH test, menopause test or pregnancy test - the bigger question is why on earth it's dropped out of the OPs husbands clothing - I've used LH and pregnancy tests that look very similar though.

There's no normal explanation for any of those three that I can think of.

LaraThot · 16/08/2024 14:43

Goodness knows, but knowledge is power and it's 100% a menopause test. It's strange its ripped at both ends, normally you'd only open it at one end. Sadly that does point to him trying to conceal it, but then if you're going to discard the middle section why would you keep the ends.

But of course all that is moot. I've no idea how old you are OP but could he be trying to secretly dip your wee?! I guess it depends on what you suspect him of, but it seems she's older than you first thought.

This is my thinking too! Whichever of those it is, why does he have it??

I've made the mistake previously of confronting him about things without any real evidence and he's just gone ahead and covered his tracks leaving me to think I'm going crazy.

But I know something is going on, I just don't know what

Well it's for menopausal women to test for ovulation when trying to conceive.

The implication is you suspect your DH of cheating? But even if that's the case, and the woman in question is trying to conceive, why would he have the wrapper? Surely she would do the test because she would wee on it, in a toilet, so she would have the wrapper or it would be in her bathroom bin.

There may well be something going on - trust your instincts. But don't jump to conclusions based on this. He could just as easily have trod on it and it stuck to his shoe, or put his bag down somewhere and it stuck to the bottom of his bag, etc.

crochetbikini · 16/08/2024 14:53

Does anyone know if a menopause test has 4 steps of instructions on the back?

Its just so weird that the middle bit is missing - wouldn't you just open one side?

BigDecisionWorthIt · 16/08/2024 14:54

Devil's advocate, it might not be a pregnancy or female fertility test. But it definitely points at a problem.

That kind of packaging is also used by One Step for alcohol test trips, drug abuse test trips, HIV self tests and male fertility self tests.

Ah ok wow thanks. how bizarre he would have this?

crochetbikini · 16/08/2024 14:57

Oh wow I am so stupid the 2 pictures are of the same piece right front and back. Sorry ignore me!

wheretheheckissummer · 16/08/2024 15:00

Where does he work? Is it possible he could just have picked it up off the floor to put in the bin and then forgot it was there?

any chance it could have stuck to the bottom of his bag or shoe during work or a commute ?

ijustneedtokeepbreathing · 16/08/2024 15:04

Maybe I am naive here, but could it not have stuck to the bottom of his shoe?

He is office based, but he wouldn't go to the effort of picking up rubbish off the floor. It's hard enough to get him to pick up anything he drops at home!

OP posts:
KaleQueen · 16/08/2024 15:06

Does it look trodden on like he might have just picked up a bit of rubbish on the lawn, stuck it in his pocket intending to bin it, then forgot?! I once had a mini plastic wine bottle in my work bag that caused a bit of a row - he had seen it and thought my drinking was taking a sinister turn - the fact was I’d picked it up off our lawn on the way to work intending to pop in the bin then I ended up seeing the bus, running for it, sticking the bottle in my bag in the rush and completely forgetting it was there. Lucky he asked me outright rather than stew which I’d suggest you do. Just say ‘what’s this?’ And watch his face. If he gives you an instant and entirely plausible explanation without being remotely defensive you can relax. If he gets freaked out you r got your answer

Imapebble · 16/08/2024 15:08

@chaos76 @ijustneedtokeepbreathing It could have. I guess because I am already suspicious of his behaviour it just seemed too much of a coincidence when I saw it
