Why would someone block a person back if they are already blocked first ?

This is super silly but I found this topic interesting. I recently came across a podcast of four men. One of the topics was blocking and why women do it.

There was this man who said him and his ex have had a back and forth flirtatious run down. He felt like there was a connection still there, so he asked her to dinner and set up dinner reservations. He had something come up and he couldn’t make there agreed dinner date. He was so hung up on his emergency that he had to handle, due to this he forgot to contact her and cancel the date. So she actually was stood up at the restaurant.

She ended up blocking him on every platform. Somehow he found out, and he then decided to block her back on every platform as well…..

Why would someone block someone that had already blocked them ??? Any opinions?

How can you block someone if they've already blocked you? You can't on Facebook or WhatsApp?

My guess it that it gives him a petty sense of "taking back control" because he's pissed off that his ex didn't want anything more to do with him after realising he was so self-absorbed he couldn't take 30 seconds out of dealing with his "emergency" to message her that he wouldn't be able to make dinner.

Sorry I'm confused: he stood her up at a restaurant and then for some reason he wanted to block her ?
So he didn't think he'd done anything wrong and was annoyed at her.
I understand why she would block him but why would he want to block her over this?
I know this isn't the point of your thread but seems a strange scenario.

In case they unblock you later? They'll see they are blocked?

He's blocked her so she can't get access to his social media, have a snoop, then block again.
Why would it matter to her that he's blocked her? She must have been looking at his profile to see she'd blocked?

I imagine it's like when you press the button on your car key that extra couple of times for extra 'lockiness', just an extra layer of security!

You can block people back on social media.

I did it with my siblings to stop them unblocking and sending me shit as and when they wanted to.

You can on WhatsApp as well.

He mentioned that he checked his instagram because they were following each other on there. He found out she blocked him. So he went to there messages on there and blocked her back on instagram.

She might not even know she’s blocked, it was the guy telling the story not her

How do you do it out of curiosity? You can't find them on SM if they've blocked you so how do you find them to block them?

My ex blocked me on fb, and I blocked him back. Didn’t want him unblocking, and having a nosey whenever he felt like it!

It’s so they can’t unblock and harrass you on a whim.

I've a friend with an ex that she's largely ignored, who blocks her, then unblocks her and messages her shire, and then blocks her again. She got sick of it, and blocked him back so that when he inevitably unblocks her he can't send her anything.

So if she ever decides to unblock him and snoop at his socials she can but as he has now blocked her she cant. It is fairly simple.

I blocked a mad relative-in-law after they blocked me. I thought about it and decided that was it, no more, and I didn't want them to unblock me to come back again with their drivel. I did hear via a relly that they had tried to unblock me and got nowhere and were annoyed!
