Foreskins - How do they work??

Flipperskippy · 14/07/2024 10:42

Help please ladies!

I am Jewish (although I don’t do much in the way of Jewishing…) and was married to my Jewish ex-DH from age 24-39. Am now 41. Prior to DH I had a few Jewish boyfriends.

I have never encountered a foreskin in real life!!

Now, I’ve been on the dating sites and been on a couple of dates with a nice man. Not Jewish so I presume he possesses this thing that I’ve never had to deal with before (although this hasn’t been confirmed. Not quite sure how to bring it up!). Third date coming up on Tuesday night, at his place for dinner, and it may well be that afterwards things might progress in a bedroom direction (I hope they do. I haven’t had sex since 2022).

I am a bit concerned though about what to do! My only knowledge of these things is from my occasional (shameful, I know) viewing of porn. But that’s literally it, and it’s hardly an instruction manual. Most of the men there seem to have no foreskin anyway.

It just looks weird to me! Does it move up and down like the visor on a motorbike helmet? It seems to disappear completely when the man has an erection.

I’m sure it’ll be fine but I guess I just would value any tips! Does the grip have to be different? Do I have to move it out of the way?!

I might fess up if we get going. But even so I’d like to be vaguely competent.

You'll be fine

BobbyBiscuits · 14/07/2024 10:46

When it gets hard it rolls down and then the tip is probably a bit more sensitive then someone without a foreskin. But who knows. There's no meaningful difference at all during sex.

IceCreamWoes · 14/07/2024 10:46

It's not like a visor as it goes around the whole top. When erect you won't see a difference but if you're giving a hand job it'll move up and down with your hand. You will honestly be fine, I've seen both and there's not loads of difference. Afterwards it will look a bit different but you won't be studying it haha.

SilverBranchGoldenPears · 14/07/2024 10:50

It’s all pretty much the same. Some men have a lot of foreskin and some minimum (these you won’t even tell the difference). Once erect you can’t even tell usually. Don’t let it worry you. Penises are indeed the most interesting thing about men, but that’s life! (Sorry bad sexist joke for a Sunday morning)

Notamum12345577 · 14/07/2024 10:51

When putting a condom on apparently you are supposed to pull the foreskin down so it’s under the head, before you roll the condom on.

Cheeesus · 14/07/2024 10:52

I think maybe you’d better ask. Some men find it uncomfortable to be rolled down.

I would hope the bloke knows this already he doesn't need his penis womansplained by op

BMW6 · 14/07/2024 11:09

The foreskin slides up over the penis head (even when erect) and down.

When flaccid the foreskin completely covers the head.

If you give a hand job move it up and down carefully, ask him to guide you, what he likes and so on. He may put his hand over yours initially to show you how he likes to be pleasured, which is helpful.

HoppityBun · 14/07/2024 11:11

He’ll probably be delighted to show you and explain

Crushed23 · 14/07/2024 11:53

You’ll be absolutely fine. I’m unusual in that I find uncut to be more aesthetically pleasing than cut.

Have fun - I love the excitement of a date where you know you’re going to be breaking your dry spell!

gamerchick · 14/07/2024 11:57

Yanno, a bloke would be delighted to be asked once you've made it to that part of getting to know him. But tbh it's pretty self explanatory.

VerityUnreasonble · 14/07/2024 12:14

If you've ever played with one of those water snake toys... it's a bit like that Grin (I married out)

Yes, but sometimes the woman puts the condom on for the bloke, so maybe it would be helpful if she knew?

Then he can tell her how to put it on

God I didn’t even think about the condom situation. Hopefully if we get that far he can put it on himself! That’s another thing I haven’t had to do in a very long time, foreskin or not!

Hi OP,

I'm was the owner of a foreskin until 25, and have spent the last 18 years without one. I'm also bisexual so have spent time with range of penises, foreskinned and not, so feel uniquely suited to this question!

To be honest, theres not a lot of difference. You'll generally find there's a bit more "give", you can get further up and down in one stroke when masturbating him. The head of his penis will likely be a bit more sensitive than you're used to as well.

There's a tiny bit of skin at the bottom of the head called the frenulum, that connects the foreskin to the base of the head of the penis. (Have a Google if you can't picture it). If you roll his foreskin down, the point at which the frenulum gets taut is about the maximum you can pull it down.

The frenulum is also very sensitive, a little lick there is quite enjoyable.

How much the foreskin remains over the head while he's erect will vary from man to man, as will how much it will roll back.

Putting on a condom is exactly the same process, as is sex in general. The only difference I can think of is that before I lost my foreskin, when she was on top, sometimes I had to adjust myself slightly or risk frenulum snappage. That's something he'll deal with, but if you notice him wincing, maybe check he's Ok.

The other thing to mention is hygiene. Smegma is a white build up that can appear under the foreskin if he doesn't wash it properly. Providing he's got good hygiene it's shouldn't be a problem, but sometimes at the end of a long day if you have spontaneous sex and he hasn't had a chance to clean his penis beforehand, there may be some there. If you find any just ask him to give his knob a quick wash, most men won't be offended!

Is Yids an acceptable term? Not criticising you using it, genuinely wondering!

That’s quite an offensive term you’ve used there. I’m going to be kind and assume it was unintentional / ignorant rather than anything else, but please don’t use it again.

You are far more generous than me OP. I have reported that post as it is offensive
