Ex boyfriend staying

my ex boyfriend is travelling from 3 hours away to come here and help me with things around the house he’s the only person available to do it right now i don’t know if he would have to stay here because by the time he’s helped me he’ll be too tired to go back he’s asked for compensation what kind of things should I give him for that? I have the one bedroom but I could ask he sleeps on the couch or something. We’re on ok terms

He wants me to cover his travel costs

Were you expecting him to be out of pocket for doing your work for you? 😂

He wants me to cover his travel costs

Okay well that's completely fair enough. Why should he be out of pocket for it?

Exactly as I said, at a bare minimum you need to be paying his travel costs. If it was me I’d be giving him some money on top as he is doing you a huge favour!

Agree with the others that are saying pay his petrol and get in takeaway food he likes or at the minimum a good quality pizza from the supermarket, and some nibbles etc. perhaps some beers.

He's doing you a colossal favour. Don't underestimate it. He's using all his time to help you.

Imagine he'd asked you to make your way down there to help him say paint his house. How'd you feel? What treatment would you expect?

It could be that he does expect something like that from you. And that's fair. To help a friend decorate or whatever that's within your skill set.

I'd also give him my bed and I'd sleep on the couch. Although he'd probably decline and give me the couch.

You're so very lucky that he's helping you. Many would give their eye teeth for that but have to pay a local handyman.
