I found an engagement ring!!!!!

After almost 7 years together and hoping that I'd get a proposal... I've just accidentally found the ring!!!!!!!! Putting his flaming underwear away, stuffed at the back of the drawer! Of course I looked... tried it on... it's exactly what I'd wanted and is my size! I'm overjoyed! But annoyed I found it too!

I can't tell anyone of course... I have to keep it all in! But... ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm just so freakin' excited!!!!!!!

I really hope he does it soon... he knows I don't do flashy, public things. So I'm hoping it's romantic and just the two of us, or just our family (we both have children from previous relationships). He knows me so well though so I'm sure it will be lovely. He's a teacher, so I'm guessing something might happen over the summer holidays 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞. Or perhaps it could be later this year near my 40th. I'm guessing it won't be for my 40th though, he wouldn't do it then. But he might do it around that time.

Yes it's a hotel in Tenerife 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Absolutely loving it so far. Aside from the lack of proposal yet! I honestly wish I could tell him about all these messages. The suspense is just awful, but part of me loves it as I won't ever get this moment again and it feels so special as we've had to wait so long. What's a few more days?! (She says!!!!).

Kid free time now over. We have a meal at the a la carte tonight. Dp is taking the kids to the mini disco whilst I shower etc. Then we will go to eat. It's at 7.45, so perhaps we might make it to the castle for 9ish?! No show tonight to rush to. So could be a good time. He seems chilled out though. I wonder if he is just waiting for an opportune moment rather than having planned something. I'm going to have to check the cubby every evening, aren't I?! (I'm going to have to try not to as I do still want a surprise!!!!).

I think SD could know to whoever mentioned it... they went through security together so if it was in his pocket (it must have been) then she would have seen it for sure and she is the kind of kid who would ask what it was!

@ThisMustBeMyDream I have been to that hotel! They do an amazing light display (and fireworks?) over the castle but I didn’t recall how frequently and when so maybe he’s figured it’s on tonight?!

I could have written this whole ring/holiday proposal saga. I found my engagement ring about 3 weeks before we were heading to Vegas and Mexico. We did 5 days in Vegas before flying to Mexico for 10. He waited until the very last night in Vegas and totally took my by surprise by not waiting until the very fancy dinner we had planned that night! In the end I'm glad he caught me by suprise! I used to check if the ring was missing when we went on trips. He actually took it with him to the grand canyon but decided it didn't feel right with so many people about. So I spent the whole day on edge waiting for it to happen haha.
Honestly just relax, don't check the ring and enjoy!

But that's not what this thread is about. It's WHEN/WHERE not WILL? The OP isn't sitting around hoping for a proposal like some sort of Jane Austen waif. They already live together and are in a committed relationship and she's looking forward to sharing a special moment with him when he pops the question. It's lovely!

Not place marking at all... just distracting myself as my son is meant to be proposing tonight.. but has food poisoning !! (Oysters - so really poorly..) so don't think it will happen... so living my life vicariously through OP.

Nil exciting to report other than the ring is still in its place. I'm now thinking he must have a plan rather than just awaiting an opportune moment. I don't bloody know what plan though as its me who makes all the plans so how is he going to swing that one 🙈.

On a far less exciting note, I'm back in the room with toothache - awaiting painkillers to kick in. FML! Typical. I have loads of problems with my teeth of late. Luckily I brought my super strong painkillers and a pre-emptive course of Metronidazole just in case. Because it is just my luck to get a tooth abscess abroad!

SD definitely knows though, she said something about a secret over dinner and I said "what was that you said" and DP just shushed her and said it's our secret! I just shrugged and said oh, okay then!

I might re-do my nails tonight once this bloody pain passes. They look shit now!! He's taken too long!
