I found an engagement ring!!!!!

After almost 7 years together and hoping that I'd get a proposal... I've just accidentally found the ring!!!!!!!! Putting his flaming underwear away, stuffed at the back of the drawer! Of course I looked... tried it on... it's exactly what I'd wanted and is my size! I'm overjoyed! But annoyed I found it too!

I can't tell anyone of course... I have to keep it all in! But... ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm just so freakin' excited!!!!!!!

I really hope he does it soon... he knows I don't do flashy, public things. So I'm hoping it's romantic and just the two of us, or just our family (we both have children from previous relationships). He knows me so well though so I'm sure it will be lovely. He's a teacher, so I'm guessing something might happen over the summer holidays 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞. Or perhaps it could be later this year near my 40th. I'm guessing it won't be for my 40th though, he wouldn't do it then. But he might do it around that time.

Oh thank goodness! She bounced back within the hour! Calpol and a nap... wonders worked! She's 7. Just praying nothing further occurs! All kids in pool and happy now (well, we've had one meltdown from my autistic child, but that's par for the course! My lovely DP dealt with it as it was a humongous meltdown after being kicked at the top of a slide by a teenage kid 🤬).
Let's try and have some peace and fun now!!!

Unfortunately my Dad isn't the babysitting kind of grandad. However we do have 5 afternoons whilst the kids are at kids club so we are able to have child free time. We had the first session this afternoon. We spent it mostly in the room 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
There are potential opportunities. But I don't think tonight is one. We are at an all inclusive, and have 3 meals booked at the a la carte restaurants so it could perhaps be one of those evenings. Tonight we have just eaten at the buffet and are going to a show. I can't see much opportunity for it today.... trying to just enjoy each moment 😬. Also wondering where the hell he has managed to hide the ring in the room!!!

Maybe he's asked your Dad to look after it, does he read MN????

No, pretty certain he doesn't read MN although I think my dad might from previous discussions 🤣🙈. Can't be certain!!!
He could have given it to my dad, although I can't think of a moment where it would have been possible... they haven't been alone at all yet!

Of course they must have been alone … you’ve been to the loo, shower, bar etc ….

So, I have found the ring again 🙈🤣. I was tidying up by the bed. Each bed has a table next to it with a cubby. SD put all her bits and bobs in the cubby, and the ring box was there too! Not even hidden at the back, just sat on top of her books!!!! Honestly in the most obvious place which is why I didn't see it!!!! He is very unobservant though so probably thinks I won't see it as it isn't at eye level! He went to all the trouble to hide the getting it here, but not hiding it at either end sufficiently 🤣🙈.

I was beginning to worry that perhaps I'd just imagined he had taken the box out!

We only see him at meal times and in the evening. There genuinely hasn't been a time where it was just the two of them!

That’s hilariously shit hiding. Do you think he’s trying to subconsciously give you the heads up? Also suggests SD knows if it’s with her stuff.

If he doesn't do it pretty soon the momentum will be gone, hard to sustain this level of excitement!

I think you are projecting your own emotions around this. However we are all feeling, OPs partner is oblivious and he also imagines she is too.

That said, many of us are about to expire with the tension, OP. No idea how you are managing!
