What makes you a catch?

Thought it would be fun to reflect on what makes us each a catch.

I know this board can sometimes be a deflating place if we've had bad relationship or dating experiences.

So focus on what makes you a great parter and person and share it here!

I'll go first:

  • I'm very adventurous and up for most things. I love travelling, exploring, getting out and about and also staying in bed all day and having a takeaway. I think im a fun person to be around and I enjoy life.

  • I'm kind and thoughtful. I like leaving little notes for loved ones, picking up gifts for them. I'm very generous.

  • I've always been told I'm very funny and make people laugh.

  • I have a good job, am ambitious but not crazily so and do well with savings.

  • I'm a cuddle monster. I love hugs.

  • I'm a big communicator. I like to be straightforward once I'm comfortable with someone.

  • I'm independent. I'm very happy in my own company a lot of the time and like a relationship to enhance life.

  • I'm pretty. Maybe not the prettiest girl in the world but I'm pretty. And boobs. Great boobs.

Your turn!

I leave the room to fart.

Xatz63 · 12/05/2024 14:20

I'm kind I will not beat you to death when you snore only a few bruises

MsLuxLisbon · 12/05/2024 14:28

I'm very kind. I'm very loyal. I'm very beautiful. I'm very smart. And I know that I am very lucky in my husband, and I never take him for granted.

MsLuxLisbon · 12/05/2024 14:29

OP, great thread! You actually sound a lot like me.

Muffin101 · 12/05/2024 14:31

I like this thread idea, nice to be positive!
I’m funny, loyal and a pretty dependable sort, you know exactly where you are with me, no bullshit. I’m tough, emotionally, and can cope with life, whatever happens it seems. I also have great boobs and I’m quite pretty.

K0OLA1D · 12/05/2024 14:34

I drink pints

Nancy1906 · 12/05/2024 14:40

A lot of men won't be that impressed by your job.
They'll be impressed by your last point, followed by your first point.

Decent men like a woman who has a good career. Only man babies are challenged by career women.

I wasn't talking about men who would be intimidated by them, only those who would be indifferent (the majority imo). Men aren't necessarily looking for the same thing as women are.

Leafalotta · 12/05/2024 14:58

I'm very straightforward, not into playing hard to get, if I like you I'll say so.
I'm affable and get on well with tricky relatives.
I love watching most sports, especially pub sports and cricket.
I'm chilled out, low maintenance, don't have any issues with men who have female friends or get on well with exes.
I love cooking and eating!

I own my own detached house in Surrey , i am debt free.My teeth are my beautiful,I have raised a wonderful 23 son with a good rugby tribe. I have a wonderful husband and a fantastic extended family.

Sorry if I sound a but smug, but tomorrow I find out if I end up in a wheelchair or have an operation to inject cement into my neck to stabilise it.

Two weeks ago my life was normal.🙄

Softycatchymonkeys · 12/05/2024 15:09

But, in a thread about feeling good about yourself, why feel the need to piss on OP's chips?

Most women aren't looking for any man, they're looking for one with similar values. So it doesn't matter whether most men would be impressed by her career or not. I am career driven, one of the things that attracted me to DH is that he has always been supportive of my career and impressed by my drive, despite not being his priority.

But to go back to the thread... I'm clever, capable and independent. Driven and get stuff done. I also have a good sense of humour, and think I'm pretty enough to be relatively confident about my appearance.

Will have my fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

Cerialkiller · 12/05/2024 15:24

I'm a great cook, I can manage most cuisines and always have the makings of a cake in the kitchen. I made all my families wedding and occasion cakes. Plus can whip up a decent dinner from whatever I find in the house.

creative, started by own business on the back of my artwork, made all my own drawings for our renovation and garden changes plus project managed the work.

Frugal and low maintenance, I like saving. Have never had my nails done and usually cut my own hair. I'm happy as long as I have power and an internet connection.

squashyhat · 12/05/2024 15:26

I have green fingers - I don't think I have ever killed a plant. Although I'm a cat person I don't run away screaming if a dog so much as looks at me. I have chosen not to contribute to world overpopulation. And I make a mean margarita. Stand back lads Grin

BatshitCrazyWoman · 12/05/2024 15:29

Men I've been in relationships with have said I'm warm, kind and friendly. Laid back. Funny. Good boobs and arse. Resourceful and resilient (have had to be!).

Howbizarre22 · 12/05/2024 15:32

I’m not interested in being a “catch” as that implies impressing others. I’m interested in being happy & content in myself and being kind to others.

DriftingDora · 12/05/2024 15:34

A "catch"? Is this the 1960's?

Giggorata · 12/05/2024 15:35

I'm interesting and well read, quite nice looking for my age, own my detached house in the country and have no debt. I'm quite good in bed and have a good sense of humour. I am a good listener and counsellor for life's problems.
I am excellent with dogs, good at homemaking, decorating, a reasonable cook and can do some DIY.
I am independent and won't expect or want to be together all the time.

Alwaystired23 · 12/05/2024 15:37

I've just been on another thread and said I was a great catch, then come across this thread. So I have a good heart. I'm kind and sympathetic to others. I rescue bugs and animals. I am laid back. I have nice eyes, I've been told over the years I'm pretty. I work full-time, I earn good money, I'm fairly intelligent, and I like to challenge my mind. I know my own mind, and as I've got to 40, I've become a lot more of a stronger person, and I have a lot of resliance. I've travelled a bit. I'm a good friend, mother, daughter, and wife. I am loyal to those I love, and I would put my children above all else.

Why would it not be relevant now?
