Can this really happen?

Hi there,
OK, the other night l was doing some online training on my husbands computer, he'd said l can use it anytime. I was trying to find a Web page that l'd looked at the previous night - and had totally forgot what is was called.
Thought, oooo, l can search the history (l'm a real technophobe) but managed to get the history up.
As l scrolled down to find the elusive page, l saw on a Google search 'Pornhub' then the line above gave the actual Web address (with a lovely little picture next to it, just incase l wasn't sure what it was!)
I scrolled further down and realised it was a list of stuff my husband has done on his phone. The other night we were googling kids books, so when l saw them all come up, l knew it was from his phone. I had no idea he'd linked his phone to his computer and didn't even know you could do that.
One of the times was given as just after he arrived at work. Others were after l'd gone to bed and l remember he'd stayed up.
I asked him about it, saying it was fine, it was just surprising as he's not a sexual kind of person. He said he had no idea how it was coming up on his Google searches. He said it may have been from when he'd downloaded some daft games, and that he had no idea what was going on but he assured me it wasn't him. I really don't mind, but l did feel a little side swiped by it. It was his constant ' l don't know how this is happening'. He promised me it wasn't him.
I have no clue when it comes to technology, so l don't know if what he says is true. On one of the searches it was typed in as 'Pornhbb', then the next Google search was typed in as 'Pornhub', then onto the actual web page. Which struck me odd.
Anybody know if he could actually have something downloaded unbeknown to him? I really hope he's not lying to me. He knows l'm fine with stuff like that. Thank you 😊

The silly, repeated, persistent lying through his teeth would give me the ick.

I can see his pants on fire from here.

JustAnotherSteve · 11/04/2024 20:17

Xeno, are you the original poster of this thread? Its confusing when ppl can change names so easily...

BirthdayRainbow · 11/04/2024 20:19

I just started to type a random word and google gave me several options of sites. None of which I have ever looked at.

No.

Why on earth would you think that?

If it was an autofill situation, why would there be the typo and then the corrected word, followed by apparently visiting the site?

JustAnotherSteve · 11/04/2024 21:04

Xeno I think we established that he was embarrassed and that it had nothing to do with technology... not sure why that a tech issue is still being discussed. Maybe read the whole thread before adding this nonsense.

Lookingforunicorns · 11/04/2024 21:07

The main issue you have here is not the porn it's the lying.
He's simply logged in on his Google account on the pc and on the phone.
Everything he searches on Google on one device will also display in the history when you open Google on the other device.
Decide if you're ok with the lying? That's your problem here (well his really)

Who added what nonsense?

JustAnotherSteve · 11/04/2024 21:16

Have I misunderstood how forums work? Read other posts and respond with agreement or otherwise... seems like everyone here just reads the OP and disregards everything else already said. Maybe that is how they work these days :/

JustAnotherSteve · 11/04/2024 21:17

In that case I apologise Xeno, guess I need to learn the new rules...

SunStorms · 11/04/2024 21:29

He’s probably lying because he’s embarrassed but…

Are there any other searches that he doesn’t recognise? Has he logged into Google on another device that isn’t his and forgotten to log out eg at work? DP once did that on my laptop. Luckily for both of us there were no embarrassing searches 😂

Changingplace · 11/04/2024 21:32

PlantsAllOverThePlace · 11/04/2024 19:49

We often joke about what to watch on TV, and we both say 'Porn'. But we never have, l'm just not interested in it. No, l absolutely don't have an issue with it at all, and l thought he would say yes. It was the over explaining and what l thought was blatant lying to me, that hurts.
He said it was some malware hiding that is doing it. If l knew 100% this is not possible, then l would know 100% he is lying to my face.

Malware does not make websites appear in your search history.

It might create pop ups or demand payment but it definitely doesn’t create fake search history.

Those suggestions won’t appear in your saved search history though.

Thecastle1 · 11/04/2024 21:36

He's telling porkies!

I guess he thinks you'll be either very upset or mad at him that he was looking at porn.

PlantsAllOverThePlace · 11/04/2024 21:38

Oh dear ☹️ it's not looking good is it? Thank you all for your replies, really appreciated 🥰

I'm sorry, he's lying.

The wank just after he's got to work is particularly attractive.

SabreIsMyFave · 11/04/2024 21:50

He is definitely lying. Men look at porn - no biggie, but his persistent lying would really piss me off. All men lie (more than women) but some lie way more than others. Some lie and believe their own lies themselves.

@PlantsAllOverThePlace Your DH is lying, and he IS sexual - the vast, VAST majority of men are! 'Oooooh, how did THAT get there?!' Shock Come off it. Is he daft enough to believe anyone's going to believe this bullshit?! 😆

PlantsAllOverThePlace · 11/04/2024 23:36

Just had a chat with him, still vehemently denying it. Says there were also You Tube videos on the history that he's never watched or watched months ago. He's put McAfee on his phone now to see if it 'fixes' the problem. I've told him to find out how this is happening then, l just don't believe him!

OP posts:
MonsteraMama · 11/04/2024 23:40

Lol yeah he's lying to your face, and badly. Malware isn't going to create a Google search for Pornhub, misspelled the first time then corrected the second time 🙄 that's 100% him.

Um… ^

if there are other random things in his search history like YouTube videos that he didn’t view, maybe he is telling the truth, @PlantsAllOverThePlace

Xenoi24 · 12/04/2024 08:18

Given that malware and viruses don't perform Google searches - misspelled and then corrected - and go on the site (is the malware in the mood to watch a bit of porn?) I don't think it will fix things.

If you ask him if he's logged onto a device that's not his eg a work pc with his account and not logged out; I think he'll jump on that excuse. Whether it's true or not ..

(If he were to do that, it would obviously be a security and privacy risk).

FawnFrenchieMum · 12/04/2024 20:01

My only other suggestion if he truly believes he’s not doing it. Has he signed into google / emails on anyone else’s laptop / device. Time had logged onto my husbands emails on my phone. After that we both got each others search history.

It’s nothing to do with Malware!

WishesPromised · 12/04/2024 20:08

Oh dear, why do they lie when it's obviously him?

Is your husband 15?
