BF and I will never netflix and chill…LTB?

Lighthearted

BF has those raised desks so whether at the office or home, he works all day standing up

We take a lot of public transport (London) he never sits down, not even long journeys

He was talking about a series he is watching and because he doesnt have a TV, I asked if he watches it on the sofa or on his bed…he watches at his home office - standing up!

This means we will never be able to watch a movie or series together unless he changes this odd habit cause I’m not going to stand and watch. I want comfort, cushions and blankets.

We both dont like cinema, we find it uncomfortable, loud and overstimulating.

AIBU to LTB? one of the most nice things to do as a couple IMO is to cozy up together watching a great movie or series.

We do chill on his sofa a lot, drinking wine and listening to music, so maybe there is a small chance…

But yeah, it is odd, don’t you think?

Surely he sits down occasionally tho?
What reason has he given for not wanting to sit/lie down for watching a film?

Spencer0220 · 23/03/2024 14:27

Yeah, he's taking it to the extreme

IncompleteSenten · 23/03/2024 14:27

Has he said why he prefers to stand?

My younger son isn't a sitter and never has been so it's not odd to me because I see it every day it's quite normal. I've no idea how common it is.

He does for eating, f2f meetings at work, on a park bench etc or on the sofa with me

He can’t explain why he stands up for work and watching 🤷‍♀️

That is funny
I’m a sitter, always looking for the most comfortable place to sit too but if is umconfortable I can’t sit too long

Erm, I don't think you understand what "Netflix and chill" means, if you think it's watching telly together 😂

IncompleteSenten · 23/03/2024 14:35

My son says sitting makes him feel "fizzy".

He's 23 and has autism and so his way of communicating is a little different but what I think he's trying to describe is maybe restlessness.
Is your partner a fidgeter?

MonsteraMama · 23/03/2024 14:36

I've got a friend like this, she prefers to stand for almost everything , says she gets restless sitting. She still manages to sit to watch a movie with me twice a month on movie night so there is hope! She's a chronic leg jiggler though, when she does sit, but it doesn't bother me. Unless she jiggles my popcorn everywhere.

I bet he's slim, isn't he? His way of being is actually very healthy.

I would definitely want t compromise on some cosy TV watching though.

My ex and my Son does this and they’re both autistic.

Terrribletwos · 23/03/2024 15:00

Definitely sounds like a horse!

theworldie · 23/03/2024 15:01

He stands up to watch a film?

That is strange - I’ve never heard of anyone doing that. What if you say to him “come and cuddle with me on the sofa”? What would he do?

Does he only have sex standing up too? 😂😂😂
