Lighthearted

BF has those raised desks so whether at the office or home, he works all day standing up

We take a lot of public transport (London) he never sits down, not even long journeys

He was talking about a series he is watching and because he doesnt have a TV, I asked if he watches it on the sofa or on his bed…he watches at his home office - standing up!

This means we will never be able to watch a movie or series together unless he changes this odd habit cause I’m not going to stand and watch. I want comfort, cushions and blankets.

We both dont like cinema, we find it uncomfortable, loud and overstimulating.

AIBU to LTB? one of the most nice things to do as a couple IMO is to cozy up together watching a great movie or series.

We do chill on his sofa a lot, drinking wine and listening to music, so maybe there is a small chance…

But yeah, it is odd, don’t you think?

no he is very strong, lots of muscles, very solid built with a wonderfully round belly

OMG he IS a horse!! 🐴

Get him a saddle so he can stand and you can sit. Dilemma solved.

🤣

My ex and my Son does this and they’re both autistic.

Interesting. I’d not dismiss he could be tbh.
Any insights on the correlation autistic c standing?

Erm, I don't think you understand what "Netflix and chill" means, if you think it's watching telly together 😂

This!

haha do you know netflix and chill means? i’m not sure you mean what you said!

Is your bf a horse, OP?

This made me laugh, @96redballoons!

Interesting comment about the correlation with autism .

I thought it was due to ADHD but I can definitely relate to the previous comments about feeling restless .

I can probably count on one hand how many times I have sat on my sofa ( despite having it for 10 years ). I have even tried lying down to make myself cosy but I find that actually makes me feel unwell for the rests of the day .

I work standing up when I WFH , I watch programmes or listen to podcasts while standing up (often in the kitchen ) .

I think it's toxic productivity as all I see is all the work that I need to do / could be doing so I can't justify sitting down /laying around .
Sad really as it's exhausting .

Has he got some sort of physical abnormality like not having knees?

EliflurtleAndTheInfiniteMadness · 24/03/2024 04:31

Be thankful it's just standing, my youngest, who's Autistic, likes to bounce while watching TV. We have mini trampolines inside because it beats him bouncing on and throwing himself at the furniture. He'd also bounce while eating and if I allowed it. He manages to sit for school.

So it's the "netflix" bit that's causing concern here not the "chill"? Ie can he be horizontal for sex?

Does he sleep standing up??

BuyingTheHills · 24/03/2024 04:58

And if he’s hung like a horse, the Netflix and chill should hopefully be fab. 😅

Not entirely sure but potentially sensory related? My youngest is also autistic but he’s happy to sit down to watch TV.
