Ghosted

After three dates. Electric chemistry and connection.

I’ve been dating for a long time and have been ghosted before but this stings. I keep crying over it.

Looking for a pathetic hand hold x

SheepAndSword · 04/03/2024 13:42

Handhold. Did he suddenly block you?

Shitlord · 04/03/2024 13:45

It's shit but you'll be fine. Just remember to keep it in perspective, it was three dates, not the unrealised potential you saw xx

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 13:49

SheepAndSword thank you x
no he kept making excuses and saying he wanted to see me again then stopped replying
I asked him why he was going quiet and was he losing interest but he said absolutely not
Then he didn’t reply for more than a week so I messaged him in a lighthearted way that I got the hint and that I wished him well
nothing back…

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 13:50

Shitlord yeah I’ve not cared about being ghosted before at all
and I never get this into or excited by a guy only three days in
but I really, really liked him
and this cuts deep
why can’t people be open and upfront?

OP posts:
Livelifelaughter · 04/03/2024 13:58

OP I think some people can manufacture a connection and for others it's rare. My guess is it's rare for you. At the end of the day he's an emotional twat and not worth your time. Focus on you.

toomanyleggings · 04/03/2024 13:59

It’s crap but it’s just the reality of dating. Before I got married I just did rotation dating and invested very little. Chasing, asking, probing and texting doesn’t work. They’re either going to ask you out or they’re not.

therealcookiemonster · 04/03/2024 14:01

you dodged a bullet there OP. would have hurt a lot more if it carried on longer

don't want to be harsh but best you face the reality that he has probably found somewhere to put his dick and therefore can't be bothered. immature idiot

you deserve better

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:03

I wouldn’t even mind being rejected

just tell me?

im an adult

I’ve been dating for a long time and I get it’s ’part of dating’ - sure

but this felt very different and now I just feel like a pathetic idiot at my age

OP posts:
Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:05

He just kept leading me on then went silent

let’s be grown ups?

OP posts:
Deebee90 · 04/03/2024 14:05

Some guys are cowards. He might have met someone else and it sounds like he has. I’m really sorry. I got ghosted a few times and it stings every time.

SheepAndSword · 04/03/2024 14:05

The disappointment will soon fade.

I don't think I understand about modern dating, it's easy to say you don't want to take things further. He's not as nice as you thought he was.

TheMushroomFamily · 04/03/2024 14:07

If you slept together it’s probably because he got what he wanted harsh but true

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:07

No we didn’t have sex

OP posts:
Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:08

Not sure if he’s met someone
he’s still active on the dating app

OP posts:
EG94 · 04/03/2024 14:08

oh you have done well to find out so early! Won’t seem like it now. Had similar went on for months every time I addressed that he wasn’t making effort and I felt he wasn’t interested.. I was accused of causing drama 😂 I really liked him but realised a man who cannot handle a woman expressing her feelings is a boy! Hope you find something better x

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:09

Thank you EG94 sorry you had that experience x

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:08

Not sure if he’s met someone
he’s still active on the dating app

Well that would be normal after 3 dates tbf you should also be keeping your options open

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:19

TheMushroomFamily sorry I don’t think it’s normal or nice to ignore and ghost someone

OP posts:
TheMushroomFamily · 04/03/2024 14:28

I was quoting your comment about him using dating sites still and possibly meeting someone else which is completely normal. I’m sure you are aware what I was quoting it’s highlighted!

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:30

TheMushroomFamily the point of my thread is about being ghosted

OP posts:
YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 04/03/2024 14:33

Sorry that's happened OP. It's really disappointing when you think you've found a good one, not easy in the shit world of OLD!

He obviously wasn't a good one though or he would have just closed it down rather than stringing you along, so remember you haven't actually lost anything.

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:40

Thank you YesThatsATurdOnTheRug x

Yes and it was you that brought up he was on dating sites still and meeting other women. Nothing wrong with that.

Upsetcat · 04/03/2024 14:43

TheMushroomFamily in response to what someone else suggested
sorry I’m not finding this exchange with you helpful at all esp when I’m upset

OP posts:
Gotmytrombolese · 04/03/2024 15:24

He should have been upfront and ghosting is cowardly. In future try not to become invested in people before you know them properly, getting to know a person takes a great deal of time. There is no way you can truly know a person from 3 dates, he was probably just putting his best foot forward to impress you. I would just continue dating multiple men with that mentality.
