Do you chat up men?

Yesterday my bf ( 41 yo man, average looking ) told me that he constantly gets chatted up .
He can't even go shop without women stopping him .

Said it's not his fault , and he had to tell women that he has a gf so that they would leave him alone .

I don't think women approach men much , but i might be wrong ,
so do you guys chat up random middle aged, nothing special looking men outside ? i'm really curious now ( and upset about him bragging about that and felt like he is threatening to cheat on me )

@Burntouted what do you think the UK male life expectancy is? 😳

MushMonster · 29/01/2024 19:21

Well... I do talk to people. And I get talked to.. that is all. No chatting up around here lol

Some people you only need to have a quick chat and they think you are chatting them up

I was out for coffee not long ago, with a very good female friend of 30 yrs, when we got talking to a woman on an adjoining table. Maybe ten minutes in all, when we had to leave.
My friend asked what I thought to her. I was obviously clueless, 'seemed ok to me'. She started laughing and said that, had she not been there, the other woman would have left with me if she had a chance.
I hadn't a clue, so, if you're going to do this in public, take a note book and write it down for us who are utterly oblivious 😄

Btw - I'm very happily married for many years. The coffee and cake was excellent though!

Yeah I assume people are just talking to me unless they specifically start talking about "going for food/drink" or dating. I'm sure that's what most women do?

pinkfondu · 29/01/2024 19:43

😂😂😂 I guarantee they aren't

Disturbia81 · 29/01/2024 19:45

Men are so deluded.
Say they're always getting chatted up. And thinking they should have gorgeous women.

I think it must be a form of narcissism??? Or so starved off attention they interpret any kindness as romantic or sexual interest.

Though in ops case, I agree he is trying to make her feel jealous and insecure.

I generally try to avoid having to chat with anyone in public unless it is absolutely unavoidable. 😂 Dh is a similar age and good looking and very nice. I’m sure people talk to him when he leaves the house but I cannot imagine they ‘chat him up.’ Is he confusing women speaking to him with a ‘chat up’? 😂
