Bingo thread for anyone who wants to guess DH's reply to this text I just sent ...

DH ironed a shirt at about midday and then went to work. He left the iron on the side in the kitchen.

I just sent him this text "Just found the iron still on and plugged in!".

What do you reckon he'll reply?

10 out of 10 points for anyone who guesses "oh no! I'm really sorry" or similar.

"Well turn it off then"

Bicorne · 10/12/2023 20:13

Send him instead a text that says ‘Standing in the smoking ruins of our house beside two firemen’?

Dartmoorcheffy · 10/12/2023 20:13

Shit sorry

swimsong · 10/12/2023 20:13

I don't understand. You're giving maximum points for the most unlikely answer?

ProvisionsOnTheDock · 10/12/2023 20:14

What a pointless thread.

Wildhorses2244 · 10/12/2023 20:15

“Well if you’d have just ironed my shirt when you did the washing last week none of this would have happened “

EveryOtherNameTaken · 10/12/2023 20:15

Forgot, was in a rush. Sorry.

?!

SamW98 · 10/12/2023 20:17

Doesn’t it turn off by itself?

LittleGreenDuck · 10/12/2023 20:17

My husband did exactly this earlier in the week. I messaged him to let him know that fortunately i had noticed before the house burnt down. He replied with a laughing emoji, so I'm voting that.

closingdownsale · 10/12/2023 20:17

"turn it off then"

ladycardamom · 10/12/2023 20:18

I didn't know how to turn it off

LittleGreenDuck · 10/12/2023 20:18

Or "I left it on so you could finish the rest of the basket".

LittleGreenDuck · 10/12/2023 20:19

ladycardamom · 10/12/2023 20:18

I didn't know how to turn it off

Or "I didn't know I had to turn it off".

Grendell · 10/12/2023 20:19

"I'll buy us one with an automatic shutoff for Christmas."

PaperDoIIs · 10/12/2023 20:22

Wasn't me.

SkyFullofStars1975 · 10/12/2023 20:23

If it was my DH, he'd text back "no, that def wasn't me".

LindorDoubleChoc · 10/12/2023 20:23

ProvisionsOnTheDock · 10/12/2023 20:14

What a pointless thread.

Yes, don't feel obliged to add any sort of pointless comment.

What a pointless thread.

An even more pointless comment

JetBlackSteed · 10/12/2023 20:24

I turned it off.

dudsville · 10/12/2023 20:25

Did he put the ironing board away? My guess hinges on this.

LindorDoubleChoc · 10/12/2023 20:25

I'm betting money on a reference to some other time I've done something similar, rather than a straight sorry.

OP posts:
FlowerBarrow · 10/12/2023 20:27

“Have you turned it off?”
”Why are you telling me?”
”Hopefully the house hasn’t burnt down!”

waltzingparrot · 10/12/2023 20:28

Well you left the milk out the fridge yesterday.

FlowerBarrow · 10/12/2023 20:28

“I thought you were going to use it”
