Well I think my Dh is amazing as he works all day and still comes home, cooks dinner and baths the kids

Poor bugger has made me way to comfortable

washing up...pretty much every night
puts washing away
his ironing (i dont have any!)
teh big shop on a saturday
will sometimes tidy ds room before bed
will hoover BADLYif pushed
will do most things if prompted to really frickin nicely...over and over.
will occasionally notice that the washing machine has finished and stuff needs to be hung out.

tbh,i really struggle to 'appreciate ' what dp does

Let me think: He does at least as much washing up and dishwasher loading as me. He does the breakfast in the morning. He will do cleaning etc if I ask.

He is hopeless at diy, but will mow the lawn and take care of the garden, put the bins out.

He also get the dcs ready for bed most nights

Oh yes, he does the ironing( although we hardly iron anything) and he has been known to do some sewing when needed

sweetgrapes · 11/03/2008 16:44

He leaves at 7am and is back at 8pm. Does a few things at night - a load of washing up, folds the dry washing and anything else I ask him to.

On weekends a sat grocery shop, mows the lawn , and a couple of more jobs as needed -maybe heavy vacuuming (moving all the furniture), cleaning the loo, tidy children's room, light diy etc...
I do need to tell/remind him a few times but he's mostly willing to do it and does it well. He's always much more thorough than I am.

He does him own ironing, makes his own tea, gets his own clothes etc...

He manages all the finances - and we're pretty muddled up, as we moved country a few years back and still have things in both places.

takes dd cycling sat am. reads them bedtime stories if he's home in time and on weekends.

sweetgrapes · 11/03/2008 16:45

oh and I am a SAHM.

sweetgrapes · 11/03/2008 16:46

I forgot, he does saturday dinner and the bins also.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 11/03/2008 16:50

We share pretty much everything. He even washed the curtains the other day.

pagwatch · 11/03/2008 17:08

I am a sahm and DH works 7.00am until at least 7.00pm weekdays but he still

does the main shop and shops at the market on Sat
does all the cooking at the weekend
does all the cooking if we have guests
does all the manly stuff ( lawn mowing, diy, repairs etc)
does all the financial stuff
does all the dry cleaning
does most of the hoovering
cleans the playroom out every sat
takes the boys out to rugby on Sat
gets up early to be with kids at weekend ( made babrbie cakes with DD on sat -ahh bless)
Takes DS1 to all his cricket practice and matches
Cleans the kitchen if he gets up before me at the w/e
brings me coffee in bed every morning
comes home early if DD has a tea date so he can go and collect her for me

I do everything else
He is fab
He was pretty crap until DS2 developed special needs and then he just kind of ...blossomed
Lovely man

spokette · 11/03/2008 17:27

My DH bathes DTS
Plays with DTS when he gets home from work at 1800 hours and spends the weekends doing things with them
He cleans the bathroom every week
He empties the bins
He tidies the living room every evening
He cooks at weekends
He makes my salad/sandwiches for work
He does all the DIY
He cleans the kitchen
He vacuums
He cleans and dust

He is ace!!!

jofeb04 · 11/03/2008 17:30

Dh does most things tbh!

We share cleaning the house about 50/50, based on whoever is in the house when things need to be done. He will also put the washing on if needed, and empties the dishwasher as well!

He cooks most nights, and also puts ds to bed if he is home in time.

He also does the garden, and outs bins out etc.

CountessDracula · 11/03/2008 17:31
