Lumps on labia. Feel unwell. Linked?

Weekend and am away from home so can't call gp until tomorrow. Posted about this yesterday but didn't get many answers. Am quite worried. I feel quite run down, can't tell if I'm tired or unwell. My vagina feels achey, had a pea sized lump appear a few days ago. It disappeared. Another appeared yesterday and one more today. Initially was only on one side, now on both. My groin on one side is a bit tender but I have been working out a lot so may be unrelated/muscular.

Has anyone any idea what this could be?

Didn't mean to post in relationships. Will ask to be moved to women's health.

I would suggest getting swabbed at a sexual health clinic.

I don't want to cause upset incase yours is not but I had these symptoms 7 years ago and turned out I had genital herpes. X

I'm afraid I was wondering as well whether there was any chance you have an STD?

LovelyBitOfSquirrrel · 22/10/2023 22:29

Just to offer another perspective to the above, I had these symptoms and was told likely genital herpes (been with husband for 10years) and it came back negative, another gp visit and it turned out likely bacterial infection. Still worth seeing a GP but don’t go down a rabbit hole and let it take over your mind regarding stds.

Tellytibby · 22/10/2023 22:32

If it was herpes it would be very atypical, but I will get checked out when I can.

Op check out a bartholian cyst. I'd never heard of it before but my friend had one of these a few years ago, her symptoms sound just like your and she too felt unwell. She ended up having to need emergency surgery. She too had a lump on her labia and her vagina was sore and she thought she had the flu, I assume it was infected. Try see your gp I'd say. Good luck

Unlikely as it's not in the right place and there have been three small lumps in different places.

Could it be swollen lymph nodes?

828Pax · 22/10/2023 23:24

I had the same years ago..was told I had herpes but then it turned out to be glandular fever. Hope you get to the bottom of it and feel better soon x

I don't think so because the lumps are right at the edge of my labia major, where they both meet. I just want the pain to be gone. Am going to try and find someone who will see me tomorrow but feels unlikely.

Not sure why this thread hasn't been moved. Another has appeared today and my groin is so painful it hurts to walk. I have a GP appointment next week on Wednesday. So painful. I have no idea why this is happening.

I think you should be seen much quicker than next Wednesday. Do you have a GUM clinic in your area? Do you have a walk in centre?

Alicenwonderland · 26/10/2023 10:47

So sorry lovely but it sounds exactly like an initial herpes outbreak. The first one is horrible and you can feel fluey, does it hurt to wee?

WonderingWanda · 26/10/2023 10:49

If you've been doing lots of exercise could they be linked to blocked sweat glands and friction? Does a hot compress help ease the pain?

No not when I wee. They are small pea sized lumps. You can't see them to look at. My labia looks completely normal. They're under the skin and movable. No lesions. They're almost like little cysts.

The only thing that helps is putting heat on them and keeping my legs apart. I always exercise a lot though. I just want to find out how to stop them from appearing.

I think they are cysts. Hot compress should help. They may get bigger in size. Hope you are ok.

Alicenwonderland · 26/10/2023 10:59

Do they itch? When I first had it they started out as itchy lumps, after a few days they burst and that's when it's very painful when you wee.

Not itchy. The first one I had is almost completely gone. Just disappeared.

I'm away with my son, far from home and have nobody to have him whilst I go to walk in. I'm considering going home.

Sounds awful
Good luck Op

Tomatoketchupred · 26/10/2023 11:13

I had this and it was genital herpes. Not a pleasant thing to have at first get swabbed as soon as possible the first outbreak is the worst.

Did you have lots of different lumps in different places that just disappeared on their own. With no lesions? I just want to know what it is.

EBearhug · 26/10/2023 11:31

I had abscesses there, which turned out to be related to diabetes - it's what led to me being diagnosed. But it started as painful lumps.

2023shady · 26/10/2023 11:54

Hidradenitis supprativa? I have this
