Does anyone cringe when you look back at your wedding photos?

Whenever I come across photos of my wedding, or think about it, I cringe so much. It's a really strange feeling that's hard to describe, but I know it's not a positive feeling.

Is this at all common for others? Including for those who are happy in their marriages?

No, I love looking through them every so often! It's great to remember a wonderful day and see the loved ones who are no longer here. Why do you think it makes you cringe?

StressedToDeathhhh · 18/09/2023 22:48

I'm not married, but I do find weddings and especially posey wedding photos, incredibly cringy. Obviously I'm happy for people I love when they get married, I just find the wedding bit a bit embarrassing

Billyhargrovesmullet · 18/09/2023 22:50

No even though we’re not together anymore (I left him) I love looking back on my wedding day it was everything I wanted

UndercoverCop · 18/09/2023 22:53

The wedding photos of ours I love the most are the candid ones, some of the cheesier posed ones make me laugh, because we were talking at the time and laughing about how cheesy it was, but that laughter produced some great pictures. They don't make me cringe though

Theoriginalmrscillianmurphy · 18/09/2023 22:53

I threw mine in the bin 🤣

Wildthingsrevenge · 18/09/2023 22:55

Nope. Should really as they are full on '80's formal, but they still make me happy.

LetMeEnfoldYou · 18/09/2023 22:57

Yes, I'm much slimmer now and look better now. I'd look so much better in the photos now and have a choice of much nicer dresses <vain I know>

We've got a hugely expensive alum, married 20 odd years, it lives under out bed and has been looked maybe five times max by the kids.

ShimmyingThroughTheChaos · 18/09/2023 23:27

I love looking at formal 80s wedding photos and seeing what everyone was wearing!

Querypost · 18/09/2023 23:28

Don't get the photos out much but watch the video back every handful of years. Nice to see some loved ones who are sadly no longer with us.

No. But I refused to have any that I considered soppy despite the photographer wanting to take some nauseating shots. So they are basically pictures of people I like in a nice setting and nothing cringeworthy.

Screamingabdabz · 18/09/2023 23:32

I’ve been happily married for nearly 30 years but cringe at mine op.

I had awfully short ‘fashionable’ hair which just didn’t suit me and the nerves got the better of me so I kept just being goofy and giggling. It all lacks decorum or anything romantic. I really envy people with that lovely shot of demure happy bride, pretty dress and husband looking adoringly. Nope. We look like we are doing it for a joke. Shame. Oh well, at least the marriage part worked out. 🤞🏼 (So far)

PurpleButterflyWings · 18/09/2023 23:32

Not at all. Mine (ours) are beautiful. I looked gorgeous, tiny, and cute. Grin (30+ years ago!)

Wish I fucking did now! 😆

ShutTheDoorBabe · 18/09/2023 23:34

Not at all. The album lives in the box with all the other albums and our dc love looking through them. We have some of the photos on display around the house. They might not be to everyone's taste because we had a very cheap wedding and therefore had a friend of a friend do them, but we love them because they remind us of a very happy day.

Yes but I'm divorced 😂😂
after my prick of an exH cheated throughout my entire pregnancy and 1st year of Dds life

SecretVictoria · 18/09/2023 23:38

Not keen on mine, only because I couldn’t smile properly as I broke my tooth the day before 🙄. There are some I like and I can (nearly) laugh about it now.

PorridgeOnToast · 18/09/2023 23:41

Only when I see the groom.

Nsky62 · 18/09/2023 23:41

Still love mine, tho divorced, happy times

EconomyClassRockstar · 18/09/2023 23:44

I haven't looked at mine in about 15 years but one of my parents died this year and I dug it out. I don't care that the clothes look out of style, I just love that we all look so happy. And we still are.

Faytella2020 · 18/09/2023 23:45

I look nice on them but I married a prick and i think I knew it.

Spa7tak · 19/09/2023 10:38

Cringe, embarrassed, shame? Banish those feelings and unhappy memories. Be happy now and store up more happy memories for the future.
I'm looking at my wedding photos right now on this device and it's all good. We look fabulous and so happy in the sun in Kensington gardens, pregnant and poor and full of hope, Esperanza

OnAFrolicOfMyOwn · 19/09/2023 10:45

Only in the sense of how old I look now by comparison!

StanleyGoodspeed · 19/09/2023 10:55

I was 19, massive 80s hair, I had just had a baby so looked chubbier than usual. I wore a cream peplum skirt suit off the market as we had no money, I think it was £15 We both looked so YOUNG. 😂 No proper photos, just taken on a camera, did not have a do, just nipped to register office with 2 witnesses and then came home for some cake. took the ring off as soon as I got home as I found it very uncomfortable, never really worn one since, I do not really do jewellery
