Going out on your own when you have no one to go with

Anyone done who's single this? There's a gig this weekend, going to ask a few mates if they want to go but doubt they will.

Everyone I know is attached, skint, uninterested, coupled, etc

OLD is not my thing. They're no in person classes or hobbies nearby.

If you don't advise this, what can you offer as the alternative?

Another vote for doing things on your own even though you have a partner. I even go on holiday on my own sometimes if we cannot get the same time off (I went to New Zealand on my own for a month when he couldn't get the time off as I had to use the leave by a certain date and didn't think I'd ever get the change to take a chunk like that again). I go swimming and bouldering on my own. I'll take myself out for lunch sometimes if I've had a difficult morning at work. I've been to the cinema and theatre on my own. I love wandering around garden centres on my own (but that is somewhat dangerous as I make too many plant friends)... The only thing I don't really like doing without my OH or friends is going dancing - I'm a bit too self-conscious to do that on my own.

My husband rarely wants to do anything I like with me so I often do these things alone. I'd rather that than miss out.

That’s what I’ll have to start doing. My husband has cancelled on me so many times and when he does come to something, most of the time he has a face like a wet weekend.
