Can anyone else physically carry their DH?

I'm in my early 40s. I can give DH a piggyback for a few seconds. Being slightly bigger and him giving me warning before climbing my back does help 🤣. Can anyone else lift up or carry their DH?

OP posts:
FrivolousTreeDuck · 31/07/2023 07:00

I can lift him up - he's very thin. Even at my slimmest I have always weighed more than him.

OrlandointheWilderness · 31/07/2023 07:09

God no! 😂 he's a big bloke! 😂

merryhouse · 31/07/2023 17:06

Yes, but we're approximately the same weight (10 stone).

ExitThroughTheGiftShop · 03/08/2023 21:28

You know that scene from The Mitchells Versus the Machines...?

Summertime109 · 03/08/2023 21:34

No he is twice my weight and over a foot taller.

garlictwist · 03/08/2023 21:35

My DH is literally twice my weight so no.

5128gap · 03/08/2023 21:37

Don't be daft OP. How can a teeny tiny size 8 MNetter possibly lift their 6' 2" (solid muscle due to outing hobby) DH?

RaceToTheMiddle · 03/08/2023 21:38

Yes. Like previous poster we are both into weight lifting so this is definitely something we’ve tried 🤣 I can squat and deadlift 100kg.
he is 14 stone (less than 100kg) and I am about 8st 10.

TBF, mine is just a bit fat. That's probably not very outing.

KohlaParasaurus · 03/08/2023 21:59

No, but having read this thread I'm quite intrigued at the possibility of there being a weightlifting/martial arts discipline in which I could learn a technique that would allow me to lift and carry my DH. I'm 30kg lighter and 10" shorter than he is and can't bench, squat or deadlift my own bodyweight, let alone his..

Spendonsend · 03/08/2023 22:00

No. He is 14 stone heavier than me mainly fat. He is 6 inches taller too but i dont think thats the issue.

Dreamingofasandybeach · 03/08/2023 22:08

No, he's a dead weight 🤣😩 Think rugby player build 🤣 I dread to think about if there's an actual scenario where I'd need to move him. maybe adrenaline would help me but without it - no way 🤣😩

Twinklewonderkins · 03/08/2023 22:15

I wouldn’t even try, he’s 19 st 2 and seems to be made of lead.

Same as my DH, @Dreamingofasandybeach. Built like a brick privy. 🤣

SerPants · 04/08/2023 06:56

I could lift him a few inches off the ground if we both started from standing, but not pick up from the floor and carry around, no way. He is 10 stone heavier than me though, and when he got a serious injury a few years ago it took 3 paramedics to move him.

Allelbowsandtoes · 04/08/2023 07:15

lilsupersparks · 30/07/2023 22:38

Yes, easily 🤣 looks silly though as he is 6 foot and I am 5’4’’ :-)

I'd love to see this 😄

I've never tried but need to give it a go. I reckon I could give my DP a piggyback, he's slightly taller than me but I weigh a bit more so I reckon it might work

Bumply · 04/08/2023 20:14

Yes.
I'm 5' 7" and hefty. He's 5' 10" and skinny

More awkward with my sons as although they're even skinnier they're both over 6' so it's difficult to get them off the ground

Clefable · 04/08/2023 20:17

Not a chance. DH is 6ft 4 and a big guy! He must weigh 6+ stone over me and he's a foot taller.

Cinders15 · 04/08/2023 20:21

Nope!
I'm 5'4" - he's 6'5" and 19 and a half stone!! 😂😂

cakecoffeecakecoffee · 04/08/2023 20:23

Crikey no! My back goes if I pick up my 4 year old!

Merapi · 04/08/2023 20:46

I can, since he's built like a racing snake, but he's also a fair bit taller than me so we overbalance.

PaintedEgg · 04/08/2023 21:07

No way - my upper body strength is so bad that I need to ram fireproof door with my entire body to open it 😂

Pebbles16 · 04/08/2023 21:12

Only in a swimming pool! I'm exceedingly short and not very strong!

HollyRocks · 04/08/2023 21:43

@5128gap 😁

No, can't lift mine but I have wheeled him a couple of hundred yards to the car in a wheelbarrow. Was all going well on solid path but then we hit the gravel driveway.....................

Niftyswiftie · 04/08/2023 21:56

Yes. I'm a powerlifter!
