Can anyone else physically carry their DH?

I'm in my early 40s. I can give DH a piggyback for a few seconds. Being slightly bigger and him giving me warning before climbing my back does help 🤣. Can anyone else lift up or carry their DH?

I used to be able to when younger, but far too old for that.

Yes, and adult DS.

How old is your adult DS? How do you do it? Must be stronger than me 🤣

No way. I'm fairly structurally sound but that man would crush me like a bug.

SpottyUnicorn · 30/07/2023 23:32

My husband is 8 inches taller and 2.5 stone heavier, but I can carry him on my back, run around the house and squat a few times. Good old thunder things have found their purpose.

I'm so glad to see we are not the only ones trying this.

BackAgainstWall · 30/07/2023 23:40

@SpottyUnicorn
Hilarious 😂😂💪

I could, I had to a couple of times.

@CopperSeahorses why did you 'have to'?

Because he fell, he was terminally ill and the care company that were supposed to support us post discharge from hospital let us down so we were on our own until they could fulfill their side of the contract.

Christ, no, he's literally twice my weight.

Would be fun to try though.

Still perfectly feasible, just a matter of proper technique. You don't want to lift him, you want to get most of your body mass under most of his. Needs proper positioning so his weight is evenly distributed, doesn't unbalance you, and doesn't strain you but simply goes straight through you into the ground .

Funnily enough this is actually easier for a woman to do to a man than vice versa because the smaller person is at an advantage over the taller. I've had to routinely load 100kg guys and heavier across my hips for black belt - actually, earlier than that.

Zola1 · 30/07/2023 23:53

My ex definitely no, he weighs about 4 stone more than me

Bluelightbaby · 31/07/2023 00:17

Haha no chance ! He’s about a foot taller than me and ten stone heavier !!

@SpottyUnicorn literally run??? I managed to give DH a piggy back ride to bed few weeks ago. Probably 20 seconds and then I just turned around and dropped him on mattress 🤣

I can. And he's built. I've always been strong.

DD at 12 and half his weight can lift him for a couple of seconds. She's her mother's daughter.

MiniTheMinx · 31/07/2023 01:31

Why would you want to

No, he's 5 stone heavier than me.

TheWayoftheLeaf · 31/07/2023 01:34

Yes. Both 28 and we weight the exact same amount. I can lift him. (He's very very slim and I'm on the rounder end of healthy)

PretzelKnot · 31/07/2023 01:36

Definitely not. He’s 6 ft 3 and overweight. I’m a strapping girl but couldn’t do it.

AnnaNims · 31/07/2023 01:38

Nooo. My husband weighs 11.5 stone and I’m as weak as a cat.

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 31/07/2023 01:42

I'm tough and strong and could lift many adult males but not my husband. He is almost a foot taller and double my weight (11st heavier)

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 31/07/2023 01:46

If I had another half I wouldn't be able to because my shoulder is fucked. Otherwise I'd probably drag them by a foot.

HamBone · 31/07/2023 01:49

No, I’m the smallest person in the house, both DH and our teenagers are taller and stronger than me. I think I could get DD (18) off the ground, but I doubt that I could carry her.

They can all pick me up and carry me around- and do for their amusement sometimes. 🤣

TMess · 31/07/2023 02:44

No. Maybe his left leg.

Can feel my sciatica flaring just thinking about this.

Simonjt · 31/07/2023 03:15

Yes, but I weight 95kg and he is a skinny minny 🤣

Pablothepalm · 31/07/2023 06:46

Husband is 6 inches taller and weighs 3.46 st more than me. I can lift him and carry him up the stairs piggy back. I can also front lift him, dead lift him and walk on even ground and back squat him on a level surface from butt below the knees. The kids think this is hilarious.

(We are both into functional strength training.)
