Do you touch your hair if you see an attractive man?

Numerous "body language" resources online state that women like to touch their hair if they see an attractive man.. be it a flick, or stroke or

I'm pretty decent looking, but not amazing.. been called handsome all my life, had ex-gfs stroke my ego with compliments etc.. I'd say im about a 7 out of 10 now I'm 36yo. Since reading this body language stuff i have noticed it out and about sometimes.. maybe i'm paranoid, maybe i'm in a fantasy world.. or perhaps i'm somewhere in the middle.

I was walking down the promenade earlier and a woman was approaching me, she had all the time in the world to get her hair out of her face, but she decided to do it right when she got next to me to pass me.. Coincidence?

Same thing happens in Tescos....

Another incident recently, i nearly bumped into a woman as i exited the gym doors,, her first instinct was to move her hand to her hair

Met women at bars numerous times of the years, the ones that clearly are into me like to stroke their hair through their fingers up and down kinda thing.

Nope! And as a rom com writer I hate when authors talk about twirling hair etc because then I’m paranoid a man will think I like them just because at that moment I fixed my hair😅

TheFoxTwins · 28/07/2023 16:53

🙄

Kimfluencer · 28/07/2023 16:55

No

samestyle · 28/07/2023 16:55

Or hair often blows in your face and needs to be flipped away, I probably lose count how many times I need to do this as I never wear it up.

GCAcademic · 28/07/2023 16:56

I touch my hair constantly, including when am by myself. So, no.

Lostinplaces · 28/07/2023 16:57

Ok.

supercali77 · 28/07/2023 16:57

I have long hair so it's always needing to be put behind my ears or pushed back in the wind. I'm not just walking round gagging for it 24/7

LubaLuca · 28/07/2023 16:58

Pubic, yes.

Dombasle · 28/07/2023 16:58

I have long hair and on impulse I move hair that is hanging down my front to over my back, sometimes putting into a pony tail if I see a person in close proximity that looks like they may have Nits.

Perhaps that's it?

Imanalias · 28/07/2023 16:58

No.

RachelNoire · 28/07/2023 17:01

Hiddenvoice · 28/07/2023 17:14

Sorry op but I’ve never done this. I touch my hair a lot after I’ve had it coloured or cut

Pinkbonbon · 28/07/2023 17:46

No. The hair touching thing is a myth. Sorry.

Always makes me think 'wtf' when people do it in teen dramas as if it's a thing xD it's not a thing.

Body language can indicate attraction but also nervousness for other reasons. Face touching or arm crossing, blushing ect...could be indicators. But could also mean discomfort with the situation in general.

GreyCarpet · 28/07/2023 17:47

I brush my hair away from my face all the time. It's long and blows around, catches on my eye lashes, irritates me... I'm oblivious to who is walking past.

The body language stuff you're talking about refers to being in a conversation with someone you find attractive and is a nervous response. It's not like the Bat Signal 🤣

Grin

Yes, OP, perhaps you look liable to be infested. But feel free to continue to consider yourself so attractive that you drive all passing women into a state of deliquescent, hair-touching desire.

PS. I don't think you're using the term 'paranoid' correctly.

lissie123 · 28/07/2023 17:50

Yes I do and it’s subconsciously almost I don’t think about it until I’ve done it

5128gap · 28/07/2023 18:07

I think it can be a kind of self soothing when feeling a little ill at ease. Maybe you gawping at them is creeping them out.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 28/07/2023 18:15

I touch my hair if I’m nervous. Nothing to do with blokes.

And why would we need to assay any 'sensible responses' when there's always a hand man present to tell other men what we really mean? 🙄
