would try the gels first - they're very unobtrusive. not an expert on this, but it's a reasonably easy place to start.

Just start with the durex play vibrations ring, it's around a fiver from most supermarkets and chemists. If it works for you, get a proper vibrating cock ring from an online sextoy store which you can replace the batteries in (durex rings only last 20 min iirc)
