Best vibrators of 2026

After months of rigorous testing (pun intended), find my roundup of the vibes I think are worth your time and money, as well as the best vibrator overall that needs to be in your collection.

These days, sexual wellness isn't just about pleasure - it's become a crucial part of self-care, offering wide-ranging health benefits.

"When we climax, our body releases endorphins and oxytocin, which help to reduce stress and improve sleep quality," explains Dr. Sarah Welsh, Co-founder of HANX. "Regular orgasms can contribute significantly to our overall wellbeing."

From a medical perspective, she notes that sexual activity triggers the release of dopamine - known as the "happiness hormone" - which creates rewarding feelings and can improve mood.

It’s unsurprising, then, that the sexual wellness industry has transformed considerably in recent years, with celebrities like Lily Allen, Dakota Johnson and Gwyneth Paltrow launching their own sex toys for women, which have helped to destigmatise open discussions about pleasure and intimacy between couples.

While this evolution has brought exciting innovations, the sheer number of options can make choosing the best vibrator for you feel overwhelming. "The most important thing is that you actually like the look and feel of it," shares Lucy Rowett, Sex Coach at The Lowdown.

"I believe it's important for you to choose your own vibrator rather than it be given as a gift, because only you know what you like."

The NHS says anything that exercises your heart is good for you. In fact your heart rate while having an orgasm is, on average, the same as your heart rate during light exercise, like walking upstairs. So, having them is a good (and very fun) way of helping maintain healthy activity levels.

And while your hands (or DH’s) can do the job, using a vibrator and other sex toys is sure to help close the orgasm gap, which according to Dr. Welsh, is a disparity largely due to “societal taboos and lack of comprehensive sex education.”

So, if the only sex-related item that you’ve bought so far this year has been a HANX condom, don’t worry. I’m here to help. In fact, I’ve spent the last couple of years personally reviewing vibrators in various shapes and sizes to help you in your quest to find the best vibrator for you.

Before making your decision, these are the several key factors that I believe are important to consider that will ensure you select a vibe that best meets your needs:

  • What material quality are you looking for? Dr. Welsh advises that “it’s important to look for medical grade silicone” where possible.

  • Do you want adjustable settings for intensity and patterns?

  • Do you prefer cordless or corded? "Some people prefer toys which take batteries, whilst others prefer the convenience of a USB rechargeable toy”, Dr. Welsh adds.

  • What size and form factor would be most practical for your needs - compact and portable like a bullet vibrator, or larger with more features like a magic wand? As Dr. Welsh suggests, "if you're not comfortable with penetrative sex, it might be worth starting with an external stimulation toy that focuses on the clitoris."

  • Are you interested in smart features like app connectivity or programmable settings?

  • How important is noise level in your living situation? As Dr. Welsh points out, "if you live with others, a toy that is quiet and discreet might be best! All good toys should list their decibel on their website or packaging."

  • What is your ideal price range, keeping in mind that higher-quality materials and features often command premium prices?

  • How important is water resistance for versatile use? As Dr. Welsh advises, "If you consider yourself a bit of a mermaid, a toy that you can play with in the shower/bath is a good choice, but make sure that it's waterproof before playing!"

It is a fantastic design, the first toy that I was aware of that was made for my experience of masturbation- focusing on the clitoris.

My verdict

Tested by Mumsnet Senior Content Editor Rebecca Roberts: Read my full review of the Womanizer Pro40.

In my opinion, the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40 is the best vibrator overall and for individuals who orgasm primarily through clitoral stimulation.

The Pleasure Air Technology that this vibrator offers delivers precise, contactless stimulation that builds gradually through six intensity levels, which consistently led to powerful results I found.

While the £100 price tag is steep, the quality construction and 240-minute battery life justify the investment. I particularly appreciate the waterproof design and easy USB charging, though I found the firm silicone head could be more flexible for comfort. I was a bit disappointed that it only comes with one head attachment, too, especially at this price point.

However, despite having fewer intensity settings than my Satisfyer Pro 2—which is much lower in price— the Pro40's pulsations are more refined and effective, making it excellent for both solo sessions and foreplay. I’ve found it’s also very useful for edging, should you want to prolong any experience you’re enjoying.

2

Best clit sucker vibrator

What I like
  • Pressure wave and touch-free clitoral stimulation

  • Waterproof

  • 11 pressure wave settings to choose from

What I don’t like
  • Makes no contact with your body

Key specs

Price on writing: was £44, now £26 | Material: Silicone head | Type: Clitoral | Power: Rechargeable Li-ion battery with magnetic USB charging cable | Waterproof: Yes | Settings: 11 intensity settings

My verdict

Tested by Mumsnet Senior Content Editor, Rebecca Roberts: Read my full review of the Satisfyer Pro 2.

After testing the Satisfyer Pro 2 Generation 3, I’ve found it to be a rather powerful little clit sucker that, admittedly, requires some practice to master. Unlike the Womanizer Pro40—which helps guide you to the precise spot with ease—I found that the Satisfyer Pro 2 can be a bit hit-and-miss if you’re not careful. And by that, I mean, if you accidentally lose your place you’ll have to start over.

But once you’ve cracked this, I’ve found that this remarkable clitoral toy that combines pressure waves and tingling pulsations can certainly help you climax—without ever touching you. Its touch-free design means that this massager makes no direct contact with your body, and lets the pulsations do all the work. Once the hollow head is in (right) spot, you can simply relax and let the Satisfyer Pro work its magic. Which is great if that works for you. It’s not so great, however, if you prefer some pressure on your clit to help you climax.

With that said, this innovative toy is designed for easy handling, which I found to be true for the most part. I personally preferred the quieter suction mode over the noisier vibration settings, with the latter just going too much, too fast.

Compared to the Womanizer Pro40, the Satisfyer Pro 2 is certainly the more affordable option but users can expect to sacrifice run time (which is just 60 minutes of playtime with the Satisfyer) as well as a missing storage pouch and slightly stiff control buttons.

Best rabbit vibrator

LELO SORAYA 2 Rechargeable Rabbit Vibrator, was £199, now £129

Mumsnet Badge
What I like
  • Simultaneous clitoral and G-spot stimulation

  • Fully waterproof and cordless

  • Whisper-quiet motor

  • 12 vibration modes

  • Elongated shaft for deeper reach

What I don't like
  • On the pricier side

Key specs

Price on writing: was £199, now £129 | Material: Silicone | Modes: 12 vibration patterns | Colour options: Black, Deep Rose, Aqua | Power: Rechargeable Li-ion 500 mAh 3.7V battery | Waterproof: Yes | Size: 4.25” circumference, 5” insertable length, 8” full length

Our verdict

LELO has long been a trusted name when it comes to luxury pleasure products, and the SORAYA 2 is no exception. It’s sleek, stylish and thoughtfully designed to give dual stimulation in all the right places. I previously rated the brand’s Smart Wand 2, and the SORAYA 2 builds on LELO’s reputation for creating products that deliver.

Offering 12 intensity levels, the SORAYA 2 gives you full control over both internal and external sensations. You can customise each experience to your body’s needs – whether that means gentle teasing or powerful pulses – all while enjoying a super-silent motor that keeps things discreet.

Crafted from body-safe silicone that feels soft and luxurious against the skin, it features a flexible external arm for targeted clitoral stimulation and an elongated shaft that ensures deeper internal contact. It’s waterproof too, so ideal for use in the bath or shower.

Yes, it’s a splurge, I'll admit – but with precision design and rave user reviews (from myself included), it’s a premium pick that doesn’t disappoint.

Best finger vibrator

Lovehoney Ignite 20 Function Finger Vibrator, £33

What I like
  • Packed with up to 20 functions

  • Travel lock

  • Storage bag included

  • Fully waterproof

What I don't like
  • The end is quite firm, which might make things go faster than you wish

Key specs

Price on writing: Was £33, now £27 | Material: Silicone | Type: Finger vibrator | Power: USB rechargeable | Waterproof: Submersible | Settings: Three different speeds, 17 patterns

My verdict

I’ll admit, why spend money on an item that’s going to do something that your fingers are perfectly good at on their own. But believe me when I say that this £33 toy packs a punch for its compact size.

Made of soft silicone, Lovehoney’s Ignite Finger Vibrator comes with its own storage bag and travel lock that makes it perfect for weekends away. There’s three speeds and 17 patterns to explore, plus simple two-button controls, making it both versatile and user-friendly.

The main thing to note is the firm tip – while excellent for precise stimulation, it can sometimes feel intense quite quickly. I suggest starting on the lowest setting and building up. The 100-minute battery life is solid, and being fully waterproof adds versatility. Just make sure that the charging port is properly sealed before any aquatic adventures.

For beginners, this is an accessible choice that's far less intimidating than larger toys, while still being powerful enough to satisfy more experienced users. The finger-wearing design gives fantastic control during both solo and partner play. Would I recommend it? Absolutely – though if you prefer broader stimulation, you might want to consider a wand instead. For precise, controlled pleasure though, this little powerhouse definitely earns its place in your bedside drawer. Just remember to pair it with a good water-based lube to get the most out of it.

5

Best vibrator for anal

What I like
  • Not intimidating in the slightest

  • A great beginner’s anal toy

  • Adds pressure to pleasure spots

  • Flared base for comfortable wear

What I don't like
  • Small in size, more advanced B-lovers might be disappointed

Key specs

Price on writing: £35 | Material: Silicone | Type: Butt plug | Power: USB rechargeable | Waterproof: Yes | Settings: Three speeds, two pulsation modes

My verdict

When it comes to backdoor play, there’s no better way to start than with Smile Makers’ The Neighbour. At an affordable £35, it offers impressive quality for beginners venturing into anal play—with a manageable size that won’t intimidate those who are new to anal exploration.

True to Smile Makers, The Neighbour is designed to be super soft and its waterproof design means cleanup is simple. There’s five vibration settings (three speeds, two patterns) that provide enough variety without being overwhelming. I particularly appreciate the rumbly quality of the vibrations—they’re deep and satisfying, rather than buzzy and surface-level.

Battery life, I’ve found, is decent, though I wish they’d specified the exact runtime in the specs. Plus I've one minor niggle: the control button can be a bit fiddly to locate when the toy is in use.

For first-timers, this really does tick all the boxes: it's not too large, the tapered tip makes insertion comfortable (with plenty of water-based lube, of course), and the flared base ensures safe play. At this price point, with a two-year warranty included, it's a solid choice for anal play beginners. Just remember – start slow, use plenty of lube, and never skip the warm-up!

6

Best cock ring vibrator

TENGA SVR Smart Vibe Ring Rechargeable Vibrating Cock Ring, £70

What I like
  • Arm designed for clit stimulation

  • An hour run time after an hour charge

  • USB rechargeable for ease

What I don't like
  • Can be a little fiddly to put on

Key specs

Price on writing: £70 | Material: Silicone | Type: Cock ring | Power: USB rechargeable | Waterproof: Submersible | Settings: Five speeds, two vibration patterns

Our verdict

TENGA, a renowned Japanese brand, has gained international recognition for its stylish and user-friendly range of sex toys.

For couples looking to enhance shared pleasure, the TENGA Smart Vibe Vibrating Cock Ring is a standout choice. Made from silky-smooth silicone, it offers a comfortable stretch to fit most sizes while its flat design ensures a secure grip. The built-in clitoral stimulator adds an extra layer of sensation, making it a great addition to any bedroom.

With five intensity levels and two vibration modes, there’s plenty to explore. A simple one-button control allows for seamless switching between settings, and its discreet, quiet motor ensures privacy. Plus, since it’s waterproof, it’s perfect for experimenting in the bath or shower.

The feedback speaks for itself—one reviewer called it their “best purchase ever,” while another described it as “incredibly addictive.”

A few users found it a little tricky in certain positions, such as cowgirl, but the ring can also be removed and used as a finger vibrator for more flexibility. Compact yet powerful, this toy proves that great things come in small packages!

Best vibrator for postpartum

Tried by Mumsnet testers during product development: review of Smile Makers’ The Whisperer.

Admittedly, I might be slightly biased to include this one in my roundup. The Whisperer was born of a Mumsnet collaboration with Smile Makers back in 2023, and is a lipstick-shaped vibrators that has been thoughtfully designed for clitoral stimulation, incorporating insights from real mums and Mumsnet users who had recently given birth.

The Whisperer’s patented design optimises pleasure with a curved tip and rounded edges. Its flexible, silicone construction provides a gentle touch - designed this way on purpose - allowing for comfortable and pleasurable experiences, even when you’re navigating that postpartum phase.

With three speeds and two pulsation modes, you have the freedom to explore and find the perfect fit for your body and desires. Albeit, there aren’t many settings to choose from but for something that’s designed to get you back into the swing of things, I reckon it’s a good choice to start with.

Discretion is key, and The Whisperer delivers. Its compact size and quiet operation ensure a discreet experience making this one the best silent vibrator IMO, allowing you to indulge in pleasure without worry. Additionally, the vibrator is fully waterproof and rechargeable.

8

Best bullet vibrator

What we like
  • Super-soft silicone is non-intimidating

  • Squishy tip is comfortable but firm

  • Easy-to-use touch button

  • Great for beginners or experienced sex toy users

What we don't like
  • Quite strong, so start off slow

Price on writing: was £50, now £40 | Material: Silicone | Type: Clitoral bullet massager | Power: Rechargeable battery | Waterproof: Yes | Settings: Five speeds and five patterns for a customised play

Our verdict

Tested by Mumsnet Senior Content Editor Rebecca Roberts: review of the Moregasm+ Bullet vibrator.

The Moregasm+ Bullet Vibrator from Ann Summers is a small yet powerful addition to anyone’s toy collection and after personally trying it, I can confidently say it delivers on its promises.

The brand’s Climax Technology sets this toy apart thanks to its low-frequency vibrations that feel deep and rumbly—providing a sensation that doesn’t just sit on the surface, but resonates throughout the body and every one of the 15,000 nerve endings in your clit.

Its dual-density silicone design also stands out. Its soft, flexible tip is easy to manoeuvre and comfortable. The ridges along the shaft add an extra layer of stimulation, one which offers a textured experience that’s perfect if you enjoy some variety. This attention to detail in the design makes the Moregasm+ Bullet a pleasure to use from start to finish both during solo and partnered play.

With 10 settings, including five speeds and five patterns, there’s a lot of room to explore. I found that the single control button makes it easy to switch between modes, whether you’re in the mood for slow and steady or something more intense. Being waterproof is another big bonus, as it makes bath-time play possible and adds to the versatility of the toy. The magnetic charging cable is a small but much-appreciated touch, keeping the design sleek and functional while ensuring easy recharging.

If there’s one minor downside, it’s that the motor is a bit louder than expected. While it’s not loud enough to be a major issue, it might not be ideal if discretion is a concern. Additionally, while the bullet is excellent for precise clitoral stimulation and external use, it’s not designed for internal play, so it might not be the best choice if you’re looking for a dual-purpose toy.

Best vibrator for your G spot

What we like
  • Stimulate either the clitoris or G-spot

  • Different vibration and pulsating settings

  • Suitable for solo and/or partner use

What we don't like
  • It’s advised to use water-based lubricant

Our verdict

Tested by Mumsnet Senior Content Editor Rebecca Roberts: read my in depth review of the Womanizer OG.

At the time of testing the Womanizer OG, I was a relative newcomer to sex toys. So, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the Womanizer OG, but I trusted the hype. Combining internal and external stimulation, it's the first toy to pair Womanizer’s signature Pleasure Air technology with G-zone targeting. With 12 intensities, a soft silicone body and a discreet Smart Silence feature, it’s designed to offer prolonged, blended orgasms in a gentler, less direct way.

For clitoral stimulation, it absolutely delivers. The air pulses are powerful yet precise, and the Afterglow setting is a genius touch to help wind down after climax. Internally, it’s soft and flexible, but I didn’t quite hit the mark with G-spot stimulation – though I suspect with more experimentation (and lube), that could change. It’s definitely more of a slow-burner than a quick fix.

It’s beautifully packaged, simple to set up, waterproof and body-safe. The magnetic charging can be a bit fiddly, and the buttons are close together, but overall, it’s intuitive and luxurious to use. With up to two hours of battery life and a high-end feel, it more than justifies the premium price tag.

Whether solo or with a partner, the Womanizer OG is ideal for anyone curious to explore deeper pleasure. It’s not the strongest for internal power, but if you prefer external play or want to explore your G-zone more slowly, it’s a smart, sensual investment.

Our verdict

Tested by Mumsnet Senior Content Editor Rebecca Roberts: my in depth LELO Smart Wand 2 review.

There’s no denying that this is a huge amount to pay for a sex toy and definitely out of budget for many of us. But if you are looking to splurge on something that will bring you pleasure, this wand by LELO is a safe bet - and definitely makes your invested money worth it in the long run, especially after a long time of searching for the perfect product.

Why? Well, in my opinion, the LELO Smart Wand 2 is a standout in the world of wand massagers. It offers a luxurious experience that has earned praise from many, including our very own Mumsnet users.

Designed with high-quality silicone and a sleek, ergonomic shape, it caters to both intimate stimulation and all-over body massages. One of its most notable features is the Smart Silence technology, which ensures the wand activates only upon skin contact, providing a discreet and quiet experience and a good choice for the best quiet vibrator. With ten vibration settings, it offers deep, rumbly sensations that suit a variety of preferences, from soothing tight muscles to intense clitoral stimulation. The large model I tested, while capable of covering a wider area, may actually feel oversized for some, making the medium size a better option for precision IMO.

Like many LELO products (including the LELO DOT), this wand is user-friendly, cordless design includes raised control buttons for easy navigation, even in low light, and a magnetic USB charging cable provides up to four hours of runtime. As it’s waterproof, the wand is perfect for use in the shower or bath, further enhancing its versatility. Cleaning is simple with mild soap and water or a toy cleaner, and the included storage bag helps keep it in pristine condition.

Overall, the LELO Smart Wand 2 is a refined, multipurpose tool that excels in performance, design, and durability that should be your #1 pick for a wand vibe, IMO. While it’s pricier than some competitors, it feels luxurious, has powerful vibrations and thoughtful features that make it a standout choice for those looking to invest in a high-quality massager.

Our verdict

Tested by Mumsnet Senior Content Editor Rebecca Roberts: read my review of the We-Vibe Sync 2 Lite.

The first time I tried the We-Vibe Sync Lite, I was intrigued by its promise as a lighter, more accessible alternative to the popular We-Vibe Sync 2. At £79, it’s more affordable and seemed less intimidating, which made it a good entry point for anyone curious about couples’ vibrators. As someone who values practicality and ease of use in products like this, I was eager to see if it could live up to its reputation.

The Sync Lite has a sleek, adjustable C-shaped design made of smooth, body-safe silicone, with ridges for added stimulation. It felt compact and unintimidating, and I appreciated the thoughtfulness behind its design. Setting it up was straightforward. It only took 90 minutes to charge, although I was slightly disappointed that its runtime was just 45 minutes. I also found the app setup to be simple and intuitive, allowing me to pair the device with my smartphone for remote control.

Using it during PIV sex with my partner took a bit of practice, but once we figured out the positioning, it fit snugly and stayed in place during intercourse. The dual stimulation for my clitoris and G spot was enjoyable, and my partner found the added tightness and friction to be a bonus. However, I did notice that using too much lube made it slippery, so finding the right balance was essential. The app control added an extra layer of fun, though I wished there was a separate Bluetooth remote so you don’t need to look at your phone when in use.

When I tried the Sync Lite solo, my experience was a bit underwhelming. While it worked well as a warm-up or for foreplay, it didn’t provide the same satisfaction as it did during partnered use. This could be due to personal preference rather than a flaw in the product itself, but it’s worth noting if you’re considering it primarily for solo play.

Cleaning the Sync Lite was easy with warm water and soap or a dedicated toy cleaner, though I was careful not to submerge it since it’s not fully waterproof. While it’s splashproof, it’s not suited for use in the shower or bath, which might be a drawback for some.

Overall, I found the We-Vibe Sync Lite to be a solid addition to any collection. It’s perfect for couples looking to enhance intimacy or explore something new, especially if you’re not ready to invest in a pricier option. While it didn’t transform our connection, it added a fun dynamic to our time together, and for that, I’d say it’s worth considering.

I’m new to sex toys - where should I start? A small vibrator?

The best place to start, according to Sexologist Alice Child, is yourself. “Explore your own body!

“If we don’t explore our bodies, how will we discover what we like? Stay curious, change it up, and see what you discover.

“Get educated on different types of toys, or consider talking to a trained sexologist who will talk to you about your needs and experience, and suggest some products and brands for you.”

How to choose the best vibrator for women

If you’re new to the world of vibrators, Dr. Sarah Welsh has some advice: “There’s a lot of toys out there (and lots of noise!) around them, especially on social media. I'd suggest starting with a basic option rather than going straight in for highly specialised toys.”

“If you're feeling overwhelmed, start with something simple, like an external bullet massager or vibrator”, adds Alice Child

According to Sex Coach Lucy Rowett, the look and feel of a vibrator are the two most important factors when choosing one. "The material of your vibrator is also really important", she says. "I recommend a vibrator made of medical grade silicone, not hard plastic, and avoid at all costs any sex toys made of materials like jelly or cyber skin.

"This is because not only do they degrade over time and so leak into your bloodstream, but they harbour bacteria too."

Here are some other factors to keep in mind:

  • Types of stimulation: what do you enjoy? Are you seeking clitoral, G-spot, or dual stimulation? Consider what type of stimulation you prefer when choosing your vibrator and the range of settings you'll need.

  • Size and shape: consider what appeals to you. Some prefer smaller, more discreet vibrators - whereas others may enjoy larger or more curved designs.

  • Materials: pay attention to the materials used. Body-safe silicone is a popular choice as it’s hypoallergenic and easy to clean. Avoid porous materials that can harbour bacteria.

  • Power and settings: decide on the intensity and vibration patterns you like. Choose a vibrator with adjustable speeds and multiple patterns.

  • Noise level: if discretion is a priority, opt for vibrators known for their quiet operation.

  • Budget: determine your budget and explore options within your range. Remember that higher priced vibrators often offer more advanced features, better quality and are long-lasting.

By considering these factors and conducting research, you can choose the best vibrator that aligns with your preferences and provides the best possible pleasure and satisfaction. Remember, the best vibrator for you may be different from someone else, so trust your instincts and enjoy exploring the exciting world of pleasure products.

What makes a vibrator “body-safe”?

To be a body-safe toy, your vibrator needs to be nonporous (no bacteria hideouts) and nontoxic (no dodgy chemicals).

The gold-standard materials I always look for are 100% pure silicone (not blends), borosilicate glass, stainless steel, and quality hard plastics like ABS. While cheaper toys might tempt you, I’ve tested enough to know that investing in proper materials is worth it, especially since intimate areas are particularly sensitive and absorbent.

They should always be well-made, body safe, and well reviewed. Do your research into the company first, and read some customer reviews.

- Alice Child, Sexologist

Here’s the thing—sex toy safety isn’t well regulated or researched, which is exactly why I’m strict about only recommended toys made from these high-quality materials. As Dr. Welsh confirms, “Many toys that you can buy online from overseas aren't held to rigorous safety standards.

“They may be made from cheap materials which contain dangerous chemicals, or phthalates, which carry harmful risks for your body. Check that your toy has CE marking on the box, or on the website listing, and that it's made with body-safe silicone, glass or metal.”

Red flags to keep an eye out for? Sticky surfaces, strong chemical smells, or vague material descriptions. Stuck to reputable retailers who are clear about their materials, like Lovehoney, SheSpot and Sinful. Your body will thank you for it.

Different types of the best vibrators for women you can buy

When it comes to exploring what the best vibrator is, there is a wide variety of options to suit different preferences and desires. Here are some of the different types of vibrators available:

Bullet vibrator

Discreet toys, bullet vibrators are perfect for targeted clitoral and pinpoint stimulation due to their small size. I recommend Ann Summer’s Moregasm+ Bullet that features in my roundup above, as well as our best bullet vibrator roundup.

Wand vibrators

Known for their powerful vibrations, wand vibrators are larger in size and designed for intense external stimulation, making them great for exploring erogenous zones and a fab nipple toy. I recommend trying the LELO Smart Wand 2 or if you’re after something more affordable, check out Ann Summers' Self Love Wand Massager, which has also been tested by me personally.

Rabbit vibrators

Designed for dual stimulation, targeting both the clitoris and G-spot simultaneously. Mumsnet users rate Lovehoney’s Jessica Rabbit 10 Function Rabbit Vibrator for being extremely effective without breaking the bank.

G-spot vibrators

These have a curved shape specifically designed to target the sweet spot that is the G-spot. They are often smaller in size, and feature various vibration settings to enhance pleasure. When it comes to targeting your G-spots, the Womanizer OG Vibrator is the one.

Clitoral suction vibrators

A clitoral vibrator, or a clit sucker, is designed specifically for clitoral stimulation and external stimulation. These devices can come in various shapes and sizes, from small discreet ones to larger, more ergonomic ones - but all use pulsating air pressure or suction, offering sensations similar to oral sex. The Womanizer Pro40 is my top choice when it comes to clitoral suction, and the Satisfyer Pro 2 is close behind in second place.

Couples’ vibrators

These are designed to be used during intercourse for shared pleasure, like the We-Vibe Sync Lite. They can be worn by one or both partners. A cock ring is also a great couple’s vibe, like Ann Summers Rampant Rabbit Cock Ring listed above.

Remote-controlled vibrators

These can be controlled remotely, either by a partner or through a smartphone app. They allow for hands-free play. The only one featured in our roundup above is the We-Vibe Sync Lite again, although this is via an app and not a remote, I’ll admit.

Anal vibrators

Designed for anal play, these vibrators have a tapered shape and often come with a flared base for safety, like Smile Makers’s The Neighbour. But, remember to choose the best vibrator that matches your preferences and comfort level. Exploring different types of vibrators can add new dimensions of pleasure to your intimate experiences.

How do I clean and maintain my vibrator, like my clitoris vibrator?

Proper cleaning and maintenance of your best vibrator are essential for ensuring its longevity and hygienic use. Here are some steps to effectively clean and maintain your vibrator:

  • Read the instructions: start with the manufacturer’s instructions, they’ll probably provide specific cleaning recommendations tailored to your particular vibrator.

  • Use mild soap and water: for most, mild soap and warm water are sufficient for cleaning. Gently wash your toy, paying attention to any textured areas or crevices where dirt or lubricant can accumulate. Avoid submerging any battery compartments or electronic components unless the vibrator is explicitly labelled as waterproof.

  • Toy cleaner: if you prefer, you can use a specialised sex toy cleaner instead of soap and water, which are specifically designed to disinfect and sanitise your toy.

  • Rinse thoroughly: after cleaning, make sure to rinse your vibrator thoroughly to remove any soap residue.

  • Dry completely: let your vibrator to air dry completely before storing it. Ensure all moisture is removed to prevent any potential damage.

  • Storage: store your vibrator in a clean, dry place.

  • Batteries and charging: if your vibrator is battery powered, remove the batteries when not in use to prevent corrosion. For rechargeable ones, follow the instruction manual for proper charging and storage to maximise battery life.

How should I store my vibrator ?

If, like me, you also have children in the house who like to go snooping then it’s rather important to store your vibrator(s) in a clean, dry place that’s away from direct sunlight and stashed away in a bag or box somewhere. Locked. If your DC has grown out of that snooping stage, though, then you can probably avoid a lock.

It is, however, important to make sure you store your toys separately. For instance, silicone toys should be kept separate (in separate storage bags, for example), to avoid chemical reactions while not in use. I know—it sounds unlikely but the last thing you want is to open up your sex toy stash to find your favourite bullet vibrator melted to your £180 Womanizer OG.

Should I choose a rechargeable or battery operated vibrator?

There are pros and cons to both types of vibrator, in my opinion. Rechargeable vibrators, like many listed in my roundup above, are more eco-friendly and can often provide stronger, more consistent power.

With that said, they might not last as long during use, like the We Vibe Sync Lite 2 that lasts only 45 minutes on a full charge.

Battery-operated ones are arguably more convenient, but they might require more frequent battery changes, especially for high-powered models. The upside is if you’re on the go and taking your vibe with you, it’s easy enough to pick up some new batteries along the way without having the need for a plug nearby.

What lubricant should you use with your vibrator?

Yes, vibrators can be used with a lubricant - in fact, it’s recommended to do so. Not only can using lube enhance pleasure, but it also reduces friction between you and the toy, and can avoid any injuries being made (especially with anal toys).

Most, if not all, toys can be used with a water-based lubricant - but this is especially important to remember when you’re using a silicone vibrator. Avoid silicone-based lube, like Überlube, when using a silicone toy as you can actually damage the material.

In short: always check the compatibility of your vibrator and your lube before using both together.

The evolution of technology of the best vibrator UK

Vibrator technology has come a long way, evolving alongside shifts in attitudes toward sex and pleasure. Originally marketed as medical devices in the late 19th century—supposedly to treat "female hysteria"—they were designed with clinical intent rather than personal enjoyment.

Fast forward to today, and the best vibrators are smarter, more powerful, and tailored to individual needs. With features like app connectivity, customisable settings, and body-safe materials, they offer more than just pleasure—they empower people to explore their bodies and embrace their sexuality.

This evolution isn’t just about better tech; it’s about breaking taboos and making conversations about sexual wellness more open and inclusive, which is a main goal for brands like SheSpot, HANX and Lovehoney.
