Wont elaborate much... I wrote a long post explaining but deleted as the situation has been resolved and I dont need advice on that.

Just wandering, in your opinion are white lies okay in a relationship? If yes in what circumstances and when it is not okay.

People can have very rigid views which is impractical in real life

I don't think 'My partner and I like to be unstintingly honest with each other' is impractical.

A white lie when your partner is having an off day because your not in the mood to be dealing with it

Dealing with what, though? If your partner says something and you don't want to listen, you can say to them 'Can we not have a big conversation about this? I'm tired.' Why wouldn't that work? If that doesn't work, and they insist on going on at you when you've asked them not to, there's a bigger issue than Mackie D's.
