DD is 8weeks old and frankly i'm stil in shock, i had no idea how hard it would be i'm shattered and finding it hrd to find time to wash my hair let alone have sex. dh is great but has asked when? i have no idea, i'm a bit scared tbh.

I had all the physical nightmares, episitiotomy, blood transfusion etc but I really needed to have sex really quickly for life to feel normal and safe again, rather than this new situation of motherhood I've still not come to terms with (and DS1 is 13)

I meant to add the emotional trauma of motherhood was far worse than any of the physical traumas, so I'd put up with physical pain to feel "normal" again, so wanted to have sex. Have now come to terms with both, of course.

it was the first q i asked midwife - we did it after four days!! We were in the birthing centre for day 2 and 3, so i could establish BF - i was even trying it on in our bed that the lovely midwived had pushed together for us I was just sooo horny - it didnt last, we hardly ever bother now

7 months with DD and 3 weeks with DS, think it just depends on the birth and the circumstances and whether its your 1st

LoveAngel · 04/01/2008 22:26

Think it was about 3 months, but all in all in the first year after my son was born I can count on one hand how many times we did it.

suwoo · 04/01/2008 22:26

..that should be crossed out of course

ScaryHairy · 04/01/2008 22:29

About 3 months. It was the anniversary of DD's conception iirc.
Mind you, I had a CS and only minimal tearing from forceps so no real fanny fears. It was only tiredness and feeling wierd about my body that held me off for that long.

10 days after DC1 just to check I still could, few weeks after DC2 as I really didn't care whether I could or not ever again
