First world problem- have you ever seen khaki/ brown green kitchen cabinets

Sorry this is such a whingey kind of thing to be asking. Unfortunately the guy painting our kitchen cabinets uses a paint range ( Benjamin Moore) that comes in about 50 billion different colours.

We were settled on a plainish green. The colour needs to go with an oven/ range that we can't afford to replace in bottle green and sink in dark green. Since agreeing this green shade with hubby, I've now tried a tester of a khaki kind of brown/green which is growing on me but I can't see any examples online of this colour- Texas Sage. Have you seen this colour in a kitchen? Do you like it? I don't like the idea of muddy green but I do like it on the panel I've tested it. Any views gratefully accepted.

I think it will all be too green and you need to go for cream instead.

Liz1tummypain · 10/11/2021 08:49

will post a pic of weird frogs with banjos in a bit. its all a bit wacky really

Wacky is awesome and characterful. You've just bought this place OP so you're not doing it for anyone other than yourself. I don't like the colour of the oven but I think a yellow green/ yellow/ cream/ warm pink could warm it up a bit. It entirely depends what colors we have in the banjo frogs!

MerryMarigold · 10/11/2021 08:59

Plus the oven window looks vey olive green

Wrong thread 😨🤦🏻‍♀️

Liz1tummypain · 10/11/2021 09:18

@Justanotherquestioner - that's lovely. Absolutely gorgeous. If I didn't have the oven and crazy frog tiles I'd be going for the same colour as you've got

MerryMarigold · 10/11/2021 09:24

Mossy greens. That's what I'm thinking of.

haba · 10/11/2021 09:35

I'm loving the sound of the frog tiles!
Sage green is lovely and works well in a kitchen I think.

boogiewithasuitcase · 10/11/2021 09:40

Sort it out OP GrinGrin
I love the sage green colour.

I like this — it’s a colour that needs warming up.

Although I would have thought something to contrast more with your dark green oven (and frog tiles?), maybe a warm white?

MerryMarigold · 10/11/2021 12:56

Waiting for the frogs!

I think I'd go gold hardware.

DerAlteMann · 10/11/2021 14:12

@Mumsnut

Not since 1970

(We had them)

Snap!
FreeBritnee · 10/11/2021 14:13

The sage green looks much better than the khaki.

Liz1tummypain · 10/11/2021 14:30

Incoming frogs. I think I may have invented the part about banjos, although it would definitely fit in

Oh goodness they are worse than I thought

Very 1989

You have to loose them liz. Tell the kids the builders took them out by mistake and you are very cross about it

Caramelblonde · 10/11/2021 15:49

Omg,one of the frogs does have a banjo! Reminds me of when everyone had hideous green frog ceramic tat, probably mid eightiesShock

MerryMarigold · 10/11/2021 15:53

They are brilliant!

Also the colour of the bullrushes is what you want. Avocado smoothie. Great colour!

hazelgrey · 10/11/2021 16:42

Oh gosh ! It's so bad I love it !
Keep the tiles and the bango playing frogs
Paint it lighter , more cream than khaki

Sd352 · 10/11/2021 16:46

Keep the tiles! I love them. There’s too little humour in interiors these days.

Ancientdecs · 10/11/2021 16:47

We have F&b mouse's back which comes up quite khaki.
I love it. It's beautifully rich, calm, robust in the light we get. Looks beautifully with Christmassy branches and berries and that kind of thing.

Liz1tummypain · 10/11/2021 17:42

@MerryMarigold thanks I can see you're a positive kind of person and I think they're certainly a talking point, the little froggies. This place was a game-keeper's lodge so in my mind it all makes sense to have these country pictures so although it's not exactly my cup of tea if feels it's wrong to get rid of them. Not sure what you mean by bullrushes colour so I'll do a bit of googling. The oven and the sink somehow seem to go with about every shade of green that I've tried. It's just that I can't get my head round a more khaki/ brown/beige shade of green. Cheers for your posts ! And everyone else's as well.

@ Ancientdecs - just googled it and yes! that is very close to how I'm seeing this shade. Can't imagine being surrounded on 3 sides with it. This is the problem.
