Just been looking at the thread about finding friends etc. and just wondered in there were any mumsnetters in the South West?

erm, maybe this is just the product of a rush of blood to the head but...

is anyone free w/e 28th & 29th june? i'm a glastonbury widow and got it into my head yesterday that i would like to go away somewhere with ds for the weekend. somewhere in somerset, dorset or wiltshire would be nice - i know that is not very south west, but think the journey would be a bit too long to go anywhere further from london just for the weekend...

saw this thread and thought - hey!

i don't know, just a wild thought to see if anyone was free, i'm struggling for inspiration a bit, tbh! first thought was babington house, but of course it's booked up.

i suspect this will be the threadkiller post...

ps - have just previewed this and it reads like i'm looking for somewhere to stay! nooo! just meant i might be around with ds if anyone wants to meet up!

Furball · 17/06/2003 21:18

I'll just go on me own then

mjhen · 17/06/2003 21:41

Thats a bit of an " I`ll get me coat " moment Furball.

I`d really like to have another go at organising another date, perhaps it could fit in with bossykate.

At this time of year things get a bit "bitty" with holidays etc so if we can`t do that before the end of term would anyone be interested in a September meet up?

I could type in something when September comes to make the subject float back to the top of the list - Good idea? (Would really like to meet some local Mumsnetters!! Henleaze can feel rather "old" at times).

bossykate · 17/06/2003 22:15

sorry, furball, didn't mean to hijack the thread, but did notice a fair few people seemed to be cancelling

I'm still around. Will it be me, Podmog and furball, or are we rearranging?

LizC · 19/06/2003 07:33

I'm still around too - are there 4 of us left? Are we going ahead? I can't make 27th, so it's probably tomorrow or nothing for me.

Will try and log on to the site again at lunchtime and this evening to check messages, but as it's so near the time thought I'd leave my email address too - [email protected].

leese · 19/06/2003 19:29

Any update? Podmog? Furball?..........

Furball · 19/06/2003 20:55

No offence to anyone still attending, but as it would be a good hours trek for me and Ds, I'll leave it until there's 'more of a crowd'. - But please feel free to have a cream cake for me, in my absence. Sorry guys.

LizC · 19/06/2003 21:30

Well I'll be there anyway if anyone else is coming. It's a good hour's trek for me too, but if no-one else turns up I quite fancy a pop round the shops at Cribbs, so it won't be a wasted journey.

I'm short, dark haired, probably pushing a brown 3 wheeler with a blonde, blue eyed 14 month old that doesn't look a bit like me!

mjhen · 24/06/2003 13:54

How did it go? I thought of you at 10.30 as I was chasing children and goats on my sons school trip.

leese · 26/06/2003 19:31

Well - just my god self (with dd) and LizC (with her dd!).
Nice, relaxing chat over coffee - always good to see people in the flesh! Hoping to do it again soon. Did feel that John Lewis would have been a problem area to meet had more people shown up, as there was not an awful lot of room to roam for little ones. Suggested a park or similar for next meet up?
Lovely to meet you LizC.

mjhen · 13/07/2003 14:42

I`d love to join in next time.
