May 2019 i started seeing him.
He has been single only 6 weeks from his ex.
He was with her 2 years and then before that they were together 4 years with a 3 year break.
They had a pretty messed up relationship he said (arguments ,police ,lies etc )
Anyway we got together but he still would talk about her occasionally.
When drunk tell me stories about how she treated him like rubbish then stories about lies she told.
Then he asked did I ever look up ex's?then showed me her Facebook profile
Anyway ..the last two weeks he was distant and I haven't seen him.
He didn't text yesterday at all or reply to mine /answer phone.
So I text today asking what was wrong ..
He replied
"I'm back with (her) please there is no real need for you to have any further contact with me.
I said what ??
He responded "leave me alone now yeah,no good can come from you going off it"
That's it ..
Wtf

You're well rid of him.

JerichosPenisInADeadChickHat · 05/01/2021 16:18

He sounds awful. Block and delete

YoniAndGuy · 05/01/2021 16:19

Oh God lucky escape!

If you must text back - just reply -

'Oh thank God. Prayers answered at last but I guess you must have known that. Hope you're ok and good luck. Sorry about it all'

It will drive him BONKERS.

Never contact him again after that, of course.

Alittlelessthanuseless · 05/01/2021 16:19

Wow....what a heartless prick. Like pp said, you’re well rid. 💐

LadyInParis · 05/01/2021 16:20

Wtf! Just block. Sounds like she has got his phone and is sending this stuff to get you to stop messaging him maybe. Either way it’s trouble. It’s a red flag talking bad about his ex unless he was balanced and took responsibility himself for his part in their disastrous relationship, so well rid

littlebirdworrying · 05/01/2021 16:21

Aw that's awful! What an absolute prick! You are worth so much more, now block him and don't reply! He doesn't deserve even a thumbs up

FatCatThinCat · 05/01/2021 16:21

So he wasn't going to tell you, just not contact you and hope you didn't notice? You dodged a bullet there.

YesMeLady · 05/01/2021 16:22

Good riddance..dont waste time worrying about him.

dontgetmewrong · 05/01/2021 16:22

Wow, you've had a lucky break there. Let her have him. What a prick!

HmmSureJan · 05/01/2021 16:23

Well she will dump him again soon as the relationship clearly isn't sustainable and I suspect he will come crawling back. Don't be there when he does.

doeshelovemeofcoursenot · 05/01/2021 16:27

I feel so stupid
What was I like? Just something to do till she came back on the scene
I've just sent him a really long message which he ignored
Literally read and ignored

notinthiseconomy · 05/01/2021 16:37

DO NOT TEXT HIM AGAIN

YesMeLady · 05/01/2021 16:43

If you feel the urge to text or call again then write it down on paper instead then read it before you bin it.

litterbird · 05/01/2021 16:47

Whatever you do DO NOT TEXT HIM AGAIN!!! Block, cry, hate him then move on. You must not reply to anything when they split up again and he tries to come back. This is appalling behaviour on his part. So sorry.

grapewine · 05/01/2021 16:48

Please don't give him the satisfaction of contacting him again. There was a thread a while back with an OP who just stopped. It was brilliant. Can't remember the name, but perhaps someone can find and post. Might be helpful.

doeshelovemeofcoursenot · 05/01/2021 16:52

I'm not messaging again, well il try really hard not too.
How can he be so cold with me,I don't get it.
I'm upset but really really angry

OP posts:
notinthiseconomy · 05/01/2021 16:54

Because you were a stopgap until his ex came back.

I know that's harsh but the sooner you realise you meant nothing to him, the sooner you'll move on and see you're better off without him.

BlueThistles · 05/01/2021 17:31

He did you a favour ... look at the pattern of behaviour from her... he'll be out on his ear in a year or so.. if it lasts that long....

Relish the lucky escape... Flowers

Eviebeans · 05/01/2021 17:38

Delete his number. There is a really unhealthy dynamic to the on/off relationship with ex. Don't join in the madness.

scaredofchange · 05/01/2021 17:59

What an absolute evil coward that he could not pick up the phone and tell you. You were only texting to see what Was wrong with him. I hope karma gets him big time. You are worth a hundred of him x

seensome · 05/01/2021 18:21

It won't last with his ex, I know it doesn't help you but at least he won't be happy ever after with her, it didn't work before and give it a short amount of time and it won't work again, that's when he'll reach out to you, when he does just read and ignore his messages.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 05/01/2021 19:11

Delete and Block - you don't want to be his first stop next time she dumps him.

Really sorry, OP, that was a truly badly behaved way to finish a relationship. You deserved a proper explanation.

But, really, no more messages. And it is likely that she is reading them, if not replying.

You know now, from his behaviour, that he would have been at least 50% to blame in the horror stories he was telling you.

A bullet dodged.

KarmaNoMore · 05/01/2021 19:14

His ex got his phone. Or he is trying to prove her you have been chasing him but he is totally innocent.

Either way, it is bad news, I would reply “good riddance” and leave it at that.

KarmaNoMore · 05/01/2021 19:19

God, I just realised yo started seeing him on 2019! Sorry Op, that’s dreadful behaviour. Good thing you are angry, use that anger to write a list of why it is good not to have him around so you can use it as a reminder when you start missing him.

Nobody deserves to be treated like that, do not contact him again and do not ever reply to him if he gets in touch again.

doeshelovemeofcoursenot · 05/01/2021 19:41

I feel so stupid.
How do you drop someone like that.
I should never have started anything with him so soon after he broke up with the ex.
Then the red flags ..talking about her, showing me her profile,a pic of her new boyfriend
It was so obvious !!
