Has anyone joined the new FB dating thing?
I and most of my friends have. Seems to be slim pickings in my area and age group.
First guy I spoke to asked for my number almost immediately, I said no and he completely disappeared.
Had a few 'Hi' messages, a couple of pulling teeth type conversations. One guy who can do complete sentences and more my wavelength but I'm not attracted to his pics (a very strong 'creative' look).
Another one who looks right up my street in pics but sent me a message saying 'you look and sound lovely'
Fine in itself but I haven't written anything about myself, and there's no voice recording so I'm guessing he's just blanket sending copied messages to everyone 🙄

I ended up joining. Slim pickings here too, a couple of new faces, but most of the usual suspects from bumble/tinder/hinge.

Also lots of 'looking for my princess' type comments which I find a bit grim.

I have just matched with a very good looking guy but a bit too scared to message (and he hasn't messaged me yet either so...)

When I was last single tinder/bumble etc wasn't a thing and I'm so glad as I really don't think i would have got anywhere with it

Matched with a guy and had a quick natter. He could have directed a film sequence with the amount of shit/drama that seems to follow him around 😱 safe to say I've had enough but it was one way to speed through a boring quarantine weekend!

@WinterIsHere1990 did he say in his profile 'no drama'? I have seen that phrase banded about quite a lot and to me that feels like a massive red flag!

Still no luck here. Chatting to a guy from another app, and although the conversation has been flowing he has barely asked a single question about me, which I find a bit strange.

@WinterIsHere1990 he is early 40s. I have filtered out anyone under 35 (I am mid 30s).

As a slight aside I feel like I am in a weird age bracket. A lot of the guys I have seen on the apps don't have children and want children (still looking to settle down for the first time), whereas I have 2 DC, divorcing and I am done!

Feel like it limits me a bit to men with kids already, or older maybe older guys. Maybe I am totally overthinking!

I've deleted it. Got bored of matching and no messages. One guy I was chatting too seemed quite nice. Swapped numbers to message on WhatsApp. Next day completely ignores me despite being online now and again. Then later that night sends me a voice clip saying sorry for ignoring you.....ohhhh so he admits to ignoring me no thanks goodbye
