Quiet please? Sex with kids in the house

Seriya · 07/10/2007 23:13

Ok here's the question... bear with me, it's kinda personal.

I'm wondering what measures people take to, err, stop their kids listening in on their lovelife. Go totally quiet? Find them a bedroom the other end of the house? Send them on sleepovers with their friends?

And from what age onwards? I guess a baby sleeps soundly and wouldn't understand what it's hearing anyway, but is the same true for a toddler?

ChasingSquirrels · 07/10/2007 23:17

invite them in to watch - how else do you give them sex education????

PodPast · 07/10/2007 23:17

even better than that - it's a reality show in the making, surely?

NotAnOtter · 07/10/2007 23:18

wait till he is 15 and works late
its torture always second guessing when he might get home

harpsicorpsecarrier · 07/10/2007 23:20

put them in the garden

elescarybells · 07/10/2007 23:20

dont know about everyone else but...

we just do it right in front of em

ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 07/10/2007 23:20

Make it GOOD AND LOUD! With much screaming of "YES BIG BOY YES!" When you have teenager only obviously. Grosses them out for all time. They start staying out a lot after that and you can shag noisily at will...

Are you getting all this Rita Skeeter?

marthamoo · 07/10/2007 23:20

It's mean to put your kids in the garden. You should have sex in the garden instead.

harpsicorpsecarrier · 07/10/2007 23:21

oh sorry I meant
put out in the garden

hunkermunker · 07/10/2007 23:22

Who IS she?

ScaremyVile · 07/10/2007 23:22

Urgh - what a vomit-inducing OP

Ok here's the question... bear with me, it's kinda personal...Why do you have such a crappy, stilted writing style?

Not very conversational is it?

marthamoo · 07/10/2007 23:22

Or have sex when they are at school. Or while you are waiting for them to come out of school. Avoids all that small talk and cliqueyness in the playground.

hunkermunker · 07/10/2007 23:23

ROFL Moo - can you imagine the threads on here?

"There's a mum in the school playground who takes it doggy-style while waiting for Little Johnny to finish school - AIBU to hate her handbag?"

ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 07/10/2007 23:27

This isn't going too well is it Seri... [sympathy]

Oblomov · 07/10/2007 23:46

The risk factor is what makes it fun

EricL · 08/10/2007 00:17

I gag the missus but this only seems to make her louder.

madamez · 08/10/2007 00:59

Unless you or your DP are a screaming howling banshee at the moment of orgasm (if that's the case try a ball gag, I can give you details of a supplier) then just do it when they are asleep or out.
Or stick them in front of a favourite DVD, retire to bedroom and stick a chair in front of the door.

JustineMumsnet · 08/10/2007 09:22

Hi all,
We have no reason to suspect that this post should be in media requests and no way of knowing that the question isn't genuine. We can see why you think Seriya might be a journo but generally we'd prefer to give folks the benefit of the doubt because if they are genuine then they need help. And if they're not - well it doesn't really matter anyway does it?

UnquietDad · 08/10/2007 11:16

If this was a magazine feature you'd have to take great care to make sure that the IN THE HOUSE bit of the headline wasn't on a separate side of the page...
