Any online dating success stories?

I'd love to hear them. I was recently dumped and, at 32, am feeling a little anxious about what dating will be like now I'm no longer in my twenties. Realistically I know it is going to involve a fair bit of OLD. I always feel like it's quite unromantic, so I'd love to hear stories of people who feel they have met the love of their life OLD and gone on to have families etc together? Thank you

(It's going to be a while until I do, as I need to move out of my parents' and into my new place...but it would be nice to hear some positive stories to give me hope while I wait )

Met my DP online - I was (still am) in Portugal, he was in Switzerland. Just celebrated 11 years together. No kids but we do have about 30 animals if that counts!

I met somebody OLD in my late 40's we were together two and a half years before splitting

It worked for me, but took 2 years. Some funny, bizarre, boring and sad experiences along the way.

I would recommend dating as a sideline alongside living your life rather than a priority, and unless you see someone for at least 3 months don't introduce them to any friends or family. Expect it take at least 6 months to start to know them. Expect ghosting to happen and to meet emotionally unavailable liars; lots out there.

Met someone on tinder 2 years ago. He's cutting my grass whilst I drink gin as I type 😂. I'd been single for 6 years after husband died. Went out with a few ok guys before him. Yes there are decent people on there. He says there are lots of strange women on Tinder so I think it works both ways.

I met the guy I wanted to spend the rest of my life with on pof three years ago. Sadly he died last year, but that's nothing to do with old. I'm nearly 31 now. I would try it again, if the time comes 😊

Met my partner on badoo about 2 and a half years ago now. There's an 11 year age gap (I'm 38 he's 27!) but we're very much in love and he's absolutely brilliant with my kids.
It took ages and OLD can be soul destroying (although if you're thick skinned it can also be highly amusing!) but go for it! Good luck

I met my exh on OLD. We spent 8 years together but split last year. Nothing to do with the way we met though so it definitely does work. Am giving it another go but finding it a bit more painful now I'm in my 40s 😂

Married mine. But met him years ago when it was relatively new, so less ruthless.

Met my partner on Tinder 2 years ago. He moved in last year and we are the perfect team. We are in our 40s and 50s so hardly the usual Tinder demographic.

I met my DH online dating. We've been together 8 years and married for 5 :) OLD can be a bit of a minefield but there are some nice people too. Good luck

I met my partner four years ago on tinder. We're very much in love, buying a property together atm and hoping to ttc next year.
I was on OLD for a couple of years on and off before meeting him, he met me within one day of being on tinder!
I think success is a combination of faking some confidence (or better yet, feeling confident) trusting your instincts, holding people to high standards and sheer dumb luck tbh.

Did OLD for just over a year, was ready to give up and went on to deactivate my account but as I logged in, someone caught my eye and I thought I'd give it one last shot. We've been together 7 years now and have a 3 year old together

Met my partner on tinder two years ago - he was in his forties and divorced with two kids. I was just 40 and had had a terrible break up and some awful times. Two years later we all live together and we are expecting a baby in the next few weeks .
I dated a lot of idiots once but if you keep going the odds are in your favour .

I married my fourth tinder date, and had a nice time with the other three before meeting my now DH. My DH was in the army and OLD was pretty much his only way to meet women It doesn’t matter how you meet, it’s the type of person that you meet that determines how the relationship will go. OLD doesn’t necessarily attract unpleasant people, though, as with any area of life, they are there. You’ve just got to sort the wheat from the chaff.

We have a two year old and another baby on the way, so OLD worked for me!

Started online dating when I was 40. Went on a few dates and had fun. Within 3 months met my OH. We moved in together after 6 weeks, and are still together 12 years later.

Met my partner old. We celebrated our year anniversary yesterday . Was about to come off it as I wasn't fussed either way, but we got chatting. Still chatting & having fun now.
I think the key is to not take it too seriously, it's not such a let down then if they turn out to be idiots.

Met DH on Tinder together neatly 6 years now and married for 3. Said it before and I'll say it every time, Tinder cuts out the bullshit! I was 43 when we met and he was 37. I love that tinder is unpretentiously based on looks first, just like being out and taking a shine to someone. For age 35 up I think it just works

I met my DP 4 years ago on POF, he was my first and only date.

Met DP on Tinder 3 years ago, I was 39, he was 42, had a couple of hilariously bad dates before I met him and my expectations were low!

He however was absolutely lovely... and then told me he had to go away for 6 months for work. At the time I didn't really think about it but as the weeks ticked by and his leaving date got closer we realised we wanted to give it a go. It was really tough and tbh I very nearly have up - so glad I didn't though.

Both divorced, no kids together but I have 2 DC who call him their "spare dad". When exH moved out I thought I would never meet anyone again. But you really never know! Good luck
