Just that.
Didn’t know such a thing existed.
How convenient

Do you mean he has one phone and two SIM cards that he switches in and out, or that he can use both SIM cards at the same time?

Nonotmenori · 05/02/2020 08:34

Yes Samsung has this option in most of their phones.

Personally I'm not keen on it myself, but understand it's more about people who have two phones, work and personal and would rather just use the one phone, but still have both work and personal. My personal is iPhone and work is Samsung I'd never use Samsung for both as I personally hate them.

My ds has a Samsung with dual sim.

Kelsoooo · 05/02/2020 08:38

Loads of phones have this functionality, as above.

Actually I might get one, as it is I divert my work calls to my personal phone which is annoying.

Are there any reasons you find this "convenient"?

CornishMaid1 · 05/02/2020 08:38

I know people who have the same. It is not necessarily anything nefarious - for those I know with them, one is their personal SIM and one is their work SIM, so rather than carry two phones they only have to carry one and can switch between work and personal.

If a person was not self-employed/did not have the sort of job that needed a work phone then I would find it odd to need two, but it is not unusual.

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 05/02/2020 08:39

We have them too. Just because that's the phone we got. It's handy though, if you have a work phone, or travel and need different sims for different deals.

Oxfordnono12 · 05/02/2020 08:46

I have this. One for personal use and the other for work.

Husband has the same phone but only uses one SIM.

FoamingAtTheUterus · 05/02/2020 08:49

Do has this. He switches one for work, one home. It's a Samsung I think.

KatherineJaneway · 05/02/2020 08:51

How convenient

Do you think he is using it for underhand purposes?

Mum4Fergus · 05/02/2020 08:52

I have one too...SIM for work and one for personal. I don't think, on its own, that it's something to be suspicious of...have you other concerns that this adds to?

LoopyLu2019 · 05/02/2020 08:55

Yep, dual SIM 1 personal 1 for work. Also good for people who travel a lot and need different sims with different rates. I don't really think it can be used to hide things as mine come through to same apps from both sims, just with a 1 or 2 depending on which sim handled the message/call.

MarthasGinYard · 05/02/2020 08:56

Is there previous history of dishonesty Op?

SandyY2K · 05/02/2020 09:03

Is there a backstory here?

Some people use it when they travel abroad, so they can get a local SIM card to use where they are.

PumpkinP · 05/02/2020 12:23

Sounds good to me!

RhymingRabbit3 · 05/02/2020 12:24

My dad uses 2 sim cards - one personal number and one business. there must be something else going on for you to have an issue with this. Do you think he is cheating?

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 05/02/2020 12:28

Lots of phones have this - does he actually have 2 sims in it?

I did it when i wanted to keep work and home separate, and also when living between 2 countries.

KittenVsBox · 05/02/2020 12:31

I've had, and used, a phone like this for nearly 5 years. UK SIM in one slot, country I'm living in SIM in second slot. Just make sure you are calling from the correct SIM, or it can be an expensive error!

DontCallMeShitley · 05/02/2020 12:47

We both have phones like this. Saves carrying a phone for work and one for private use.

I think it is becoming the norm to have the option in new phones.

Jane1978xx · 05/02/2020 12:48

Do you think he’s up to something?

InOtterNews · 05/02/2020 12:51

We use these as we travel a lot for work so we can buy a local sim card and avoid £50+ a day data charges

TheReef · 05/02/2020 12:59

I work in IT and we very often give out dual sim phones to various employees. It depends on their job as some people need them

norealshepherds · 05/02/2020 12:59

Is he using it for work?

isthismylifenow · 05/02/2020 13:03

It isn't a new thing OP, they have been around a while.

So have to assume there is more to this.

leadbetter5 · 05/02/2020 13:06

I've had this for about 6 years.. Incredibly useful. I live abroad and have sim cards for my home country and for where I live now.
