Oh God, I kissed a colleague last night

It was at a xmas work do once we both left to go home. He was drunk and I was tipsy, at least. We're both single and liked each other for a long time. He took my number.

Before all this he told me he was leaving the job once he'd worked out his notice in the new year.
He wants to date in between times. But my worry is it's going to be sooooo awkward until he leaves.

Also he was pretty forthright about wanting sex as soon as we meet up, which is a bit too soon for me personally. I don't really want FWB or any of that. Oh jesus what if he just pretends it never happened? Or what if he tells everybody and they take the piss endlessly...

Just wanted to get perspectives

Big red flag he wanted sex.

He is not listening to what you want. You sound into him but I think you have to take a step back. He doesn’t sound very into you. Sorry.

Pinkarsedfly · 14/12/2019 11:09

Grin at Tits-Out Tracey.

OP, you’ve done nothing wrong, but the fella you kissed sounds a right specimen. Move on.

ForalltheSaints · 14/12/2019 11:14

You don't want what he wants. Best avoid.

PegasusReturns · 14/12/2019 11:21

I think other posters are being harsh. You've said yourself you've liked each other for a while. Taking that at face value I'd put this down to both being a bit pissed. Unless you're saying he was pushy.

its ok fir both men and women to want sex Confused

museumum · 14/12/2019 11:39

You’re both single. Fancied each other for ages and had a snog. I don’t see why people are so shocked that in that context he sad he’s looking forward to having sex with you.

I wouldn’t sleep with him till after he’s left the company at least, but I’d be pleased to know he wants to.

ACouchOfOnesOwn · 14/12/2019 11:40

I agree with a PP who said work out what you want. Your OP is all about him.

I doubt anyone at work will care or 'take the piss endlessly' unless you've all just left school Hmm Arrange a date after he leaves. You don't want to risk your job (if they have a policy about not dating colleagues) and you also don't want to be worrying about what he has shared with your workmates (since you're already worrying about gossip). If he genuinely likes you, then he'll wait. If it was a drunken snog with a chance of a shag then he probably won't.

Rumnraisin · 14/12/2019 11:44

What could your other colleagues take the piss out of exactly - two single people kiss Shock

Also, he doesn’t sound great now does he.

MashedSpud · 14/12/2019 11:50

He sounds like a knob. Making an appointment for sex....

I bet he’s shit in bed.

fedup2017 · 14/12/2019 11:50

So you are both single.
You've known each other for a while.
You had a drunken snog and he said he wants to have sex with you asap.

And......
I'm sorry I'm not seeing the problem.

I may have been out of the dating game for a while but if this was the case ( and I fancied him obviously) I would be flattered and and asking him when he next wants to go out. He is meant to want to have sex with you, isn't he?
Unless he said he ONLY wants a shag and you are looking for something else. In which case it's a no-go really isn't it?

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 14/12/2019 11:55

I don’t see why people are so shocked that in that context he sad he’s looking forward to having sex with you.

Except that isn't what he said is it?

nothappy1234 · 14/12/2019 11:59

Yeah but we were both pissed and into each other. We now agreed not to go on dates or whatever til he leaves work.

What he actually said was "You're a fine woman and I can't wait to sleep with you"

What he actually said was "You're a fine woman and I can't wait to sleep with you"

Oh, well that's ok then.

For a minute I was thinking he might have said something creepy and disturbing.

Confused
LazyDaisey · 14/12/2019 12:04

What if you tell everyone he’s planning on quitting?

What if you tell everyone he was drunk off his ass, sleazy as fuck and tried to negotiate sex with a co worker last night?

He’s got a lot more to lose than you as far as office gossip.

JoanBonJovi · 14/12/2019 12:05

FINE

WOMAN?
no man ever says that.

LazyDaisey · 14/12/2019 12:05

“You're a fine woman and I can't wait to sleep with you"

Wait what? That doesn’t mean what you claim he’s said.

Ok I take it back. You’re a drama queen.

JoanBonJovi · 14/12/2019 12:06

Fine woman is just odd.

Are you English?

namechange4052 · 14/12/2019 12:10

A fine woman 🙈😂

LellyMcKelly · 14/12/2019 12:11

Is he Irish? A fine woman is a very Irish expression, like saying ‘A fine figure of a man’.

HamAndPineapple · 14/12/2019 12:14

ha ha, yes that makes me think of him as some young wannabe Joe Dolan, telling you you're a goodlukkin wummin

Pinkarsedfly · 14/12/2019 12:23

A fine woman?

Did you cop off with John Wayne?

Shimy · 14/12/2019 12:23

What he actually said was "You're a fine woman

Is from the Deep South USA?

Shimy · 14/12/2019 12:24

Perhaps a cowboy Smile

Transformer123 · 14/12/2019 12:25

He could just want sex. Play a bit hard to get and make it clear you don't go straight into that kind of thing. Look for clues as to how interested he really is.

If he's really into you, he'd be willing to bide his time until he leaves his job.

When I look back at my past relationships, I just wish I'd taken things so much slower - got to know who they REALLY were before starting a relationship.

nothappy1234 · 14/12/2019 12:55

He's from Dublin... but it was a lot of other hints I won't get into now. I'm going to wait it out til he leaves, then maybe get lunch and figure out what he's really looking for. A bit of cooling off won't hurt.
