What to make of this photo?!

Hi. This is lighthearted ... kind of.
I've been chatting to a guy on Match for a few days now. Not sure we really have much in common, but he seems nice enough, so when he suggested we move the chat to WhatsApp, I thought 'why not'.
His first message has just come through, and I'm really not sure what to make of his profile pic. Basically, his arse is out! For context, the photo has been taken beside a traditional, old-fashioned painting with some swooning ladies in it. On the one hand, it made me giggle. But on the other, it's a bit much from someone I don't even know Hmm
What would you make of if? I tend to err on the side of prudishness, hence the interest in others' opinions.
Thanks Smile

It could have been a lot worse!!
It was a fun pic not one from his role in an adult movie!!

onionchucker · 21/03/2019 20:16

Wouldn't appeal to me. I just think that the type of man who has his arse out in a profile pic is not for me.

Dieu · 21/03/2019 20:19

Onion, I'm inclined to agree with you. I find it tacky, and not really for me.

In fairness to him, he has never been sleazy in his messages. The pic is more of a laddish thing, than a 'hey ladies, check out my arse' thing.
Still doesn't appeal though Grin

I don't know why he would have that as his profile pic when all of his contacts will be able to see it. Presumably he has contacts from work connected via whatsapp who would be able to see this.
It's inappropriate really.
Laddish doesn't appeal to me either.
I think if was only the profile pic, then maybe just see how you get on with him/what he is like otherwise but you already said you're not sure you have much in common.

Stormyday · 21/03/2019 20:38

That would put me off. I have given people the benefit of the doubt in the past but I have learnt now to go with my initial feelings.

Dieu · 21/03/2019 20:40

Thanks all. I must reiterate that I don't think he's a bad guy. Just not for me.

Processedpea · 21/03/2019 20:42

How is his arse out ,?

NotTheFordType · 21/03/2019 20:42

God how old is he? If he's over 25 then hes ridiculously immature and I would also assume a fairly big drinker (or binge drinker).

NotTheFordType · 21/03/2019 20:43

@Processedpea I assume OP means he's pulling a moony (moonie?)

Myheartbelongsto · 21/03/2019 20:44

Ah, i'd give him a chance.

Dieu · 21/03/2019 20:48

Yes, trousers down and backside fully out.

OP posts:
SparklySneakers · 21/03/2019 20:49

Is he 14?
I wouldn't be impressed and wouldn't engage with him further. Unless the arse out banter laddish immature type is for you?
Your gut has said "Ugh. Wtf?" I'd listen to it.

And they wonder why they are single Confused

Dieu · 21/03/2019 20:49

He's in his forties.

OP posts:
NotTheFordType · 21/03/2019 20:51

40s 😮

Dear god. I'd steer well clear.

Dieu · 21/03/2019 20:51

Have already decided to move on.

OP posts:
NotTheFordType · 21/03/2019 20:52

And I'm no prude. But there's a time and a place for mooning and it's "While drunk during a stag do and trying to relive our youth, and what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." Not immortalised as your fucking WhatsApp profile pic.

Furrytoebean · 21/03/2019 20:54

I’d give him a chance to be honest, if there’s nothing else about him that’s putting you off.
But just keep it as one strike.

blueyellowgreen · 21/03/2019 20:55

Is it actually him in the photo? Rather than just a 'funny' photo. Either way a strange choice!

problem1234567 · 21/03/2019 20:56

That would be putting me off as well.

Dieu · 21/03/2019 20:56

Well, quite.
I work in a school too, which somehow makes it even more inappropriate.
As a fun pic from a partner, great. From a stranger, less so.

OP posts:
Dieu · 21/03/2019 20:56

Definitely him!

Stormyday · 21/03/2019 20:58

Yes I was going to say it might be just about passable if he was 20 and put it up for a laugh but 40s? No.

beerandpopcorn · 21/03/2019 21:05

Nah!!

LellyMcKelly · 21/03/2019 21:08

Unless you said ‘Show me a pic of your naked arse’ then ugh! If you laugh I guarantee a dick pic is next.
