Gassy boyfriend - help please?!

Name change as this is sliiiiightly embarrassing!
My boyfriend is perfect in every way; tall, dark, handsome, girthy , well-mannered.

The only issue is, my number one man has a definite issue nearing 'number 2'!!

I appreciate this may seem jokey, but his gassiness is really starting to hurt the relationship. We discussed being open with one another, and he said that he has been struggling while together to keep his gas in...! I told him I'd love him regardless, farts and all.

However, I am reaching the end of the proverbial tether. We have spoken about it, and he is embarrassed by it. He wants to be supportive through this, but I'm worried it may be a biological issue. It absolutely stinks, and to be honest it's somewhat of a turn off. It's like he just can't seem to help it.

He's a vegetarian, and otherwise he is extremely hygienic. But I am starting to worry he may have IBS, or something akin.

Have any of you girlies had any issues like this? If so, how did you approach this with your partner? I don't want to hurt his feelings but I really feel that he needs to be more considerate of me.

Does he eat a very high fibre diet? Is he considerate and apologetic or just lets one rip and laugh?

Nc1548 · 20/02/2019 20:37

If it's that bad that it affects him socially he may have a health issue or food intolerance.

EdWinchester · 20/02/2019 20:41

I am not a 'girly', but...

He sounds revolting. If you're at the end of your tether now, imagine in a year's time. If he has IBS or something, you could choose to live with it. But if he's just bad-mannered, get rid.

stopitandtidyupp · 20/02/2019 20:49

My partner is similar. I guess I just put up with it as one of those things. They are so loud too.

I lost my sense of smell for about a month recently. I was actually happy to smell it again.

Sorry not much help.

peekyboo · 20/02/2019 20:50

Fart fetishist?

Helga55 · 20/02/2019 20:54

You lost me at 'girthy' 😂

Yippeee · 20/02/2019 20:55

It wouldn’t be for me.

Doghorsechicken · 20/02/2019 20:59

I was about to say does he eat lots of veg. And he’s vegetarian so that figures! Could you alter his diet slightly?

TwinkleTea · 20/02/2019 20:59

I feel for your BF!! It is SO embarrassing, particularly if you work in an office!

I suggest he looks very carefully at his diet...I have found a long list of things I should avoid, including most vegetables, coffee and breakfast cereal. I literally can't control it if I touch any of those...I also try to avoid carbs before lunch. My problem is a million times better since doing this.

He could try an elimination diet, it might help. Google has lots of info on this

Sunshinewithshowers123 · 20/02/2019 21:00

It's probably just something he's eating like brocolli or cauliflower. Is he willing to try to pinpoint the cause?

123drink · 20/02/2019 21:09

Girthy Hmm weight wise or cock wise?

StartingAgain101 · 20/02/2019 21:23

Not buying this one at all.

Men have a different style of writing and this has 'male' all over it. Plus women dont refer to each other as girlies and mention girth. Plus the ridiculous way you wrote about your number 1 and his number 2s.

halfwitpicker · 20/02/2019 21:26

Who cares if he darts, he has a big dick

halfwitpicker · 20/02/2019 21:26

StartingAgain101 · 20/02/2019 21:29

I suspect OPs dick is actually quite small if he needs to get his rocks off on MN.

Wellit · 20/02/2019 21:30

😂😂😂 this is hilarious, sorry if this is for real, but you have a real way with words op!

Sparkly666 · 20/02/2019 22:09

Your BF sounds remarkably like my ex !

CurtainsOpen · 20/02/2019 22:15

Not another Trump thread.

Doobydoobeedoo · 20/02/2019 22:15

"Girthy But Gassy" has a certain ahem ring to it.

Or maybe "Girthy and His Girly"?

staydazzling · 20/02/2019 22:18

girthy? 😂 has he been
to the GP?

KimchiLaLa · 20/02/2019 22:21

I feel like this is a windup

AhhhHereItGoes · 20/02/2019 22:22

I'm sorry but this is just hilarious.

waves at fellow girthless girlies

I don't think this is the sort of gassing he was looking for.
