"Breakup" text wording?

Hi lovelies. This is one in need of quick turnaround, as I need to address this tonight (Sunday).

Been seeing guy for a few months, but only meet up at his, shag, then I go home. We don't even see each other that regularly. It's 1 1/4hr drive for me each way. Basically, it's not what I want, but I've kind of said this before, then seen him again.

He's really lovely, and he's done nothing wrong, it's just not for me.

How do I word this? He sent me text with words to Adele's "Hello" earlier as I haven't texted him.

I was thinking "hey, sorry not been in touch. Been thinking about a lot of stuff & I guess I'm looking for a very different thing to you. I'm too old for a fuckbuddy."

Ughhhhhhh. Help!!

Hmm, so are you hoping he'll turn around and say "I want more"?

If you are, that was the wrong text, you should have said something like "Sorry, this isn't meeting my needs, I'm looking for a proper relationship"

@category12 no, absolutely not. Something really clicked with me a couple of weeks ago & I don't want to pursue it.

You're right - I asked him if this was a "fuckbuddy " thing & he said he wasn't seeing anyone else & wanted to keep it simple. To me, that is "yeah, it's just a shag".

I do agree that your text was a bit ambiguous, didnt really say in so many words that you didn't want to see him again and was open to interpretation.
