Woman at work

So my partner of 14 years comes in and say do you mind if I put a curtain track up for ann who I work with. She suggested Tuesday but told I couldn't. Is it normal for a single woman to ask that of a man she has only worked with since June!! I know I am sensitive sometimes so thought I would ask

OP posts:

They've worked together for over six months.

There's nothing abnormal in this situation.

DeadCertain · 15/01/2019 18:24

Sounds fine to me.

chordFire · 15/01/2019 18:30

Gone with him if you're worried!

Bombardier25966 · 15/01/2019 18:32

Gone with him if you're worried!

That would be ridiculous.

Gazelda · 15/01/2019 18:33

He's doing a work colleague a favour. He sounds like a good man.

Do you have any ready to mistrust him?

SparklyMagpie · 15/01/2019 18:52

*gone with him if you're worried"
😂 how embarrassing!

Not seeing the issue whatsoever ?+

category12 · 15/01/2019 19:07

Does he have a track record of falling into women he does DIY for?

HisBetterHalf · 15/01/2019 19:23

How far away does the colleague live?

Loopytiles · 15/01/2019 19:25

Odd but sounds innocuous, has DP been showing off his practical skills at work Grin

Hanab · 15/01/2019 19:27

If there is nothing going on there should not be an issue if op tags a long ... perfect opportunity to meet work colleague 🤷🏻‍♀️

Giesabreak · 15/01/2019 19:31

Except the colleague will know that his wife doesn't trust him.

Zoflorabore · 15/01/2019 19:36

It all depends whether or not you trust him op. Even if Ann were to throw herself at him or do a sexy dance with the curtain pole then surely your man would put her straight? Right?

Just because the situation could happen it doesn't mean that he would be obliged. Ann may not have any interest in him other than a friend/colleague. She may have no family to help her out. I wouldn't worry at all.

Myheartbelongsto · 15/01/2019 19:41

She must have make friends, friends with husbands.......

I have never asked a man I work with to put up a curtain track or do any DIY.

SexNotJenga · 15/01/2019 19:43

I've never asked a colleague to help me with DIY. Takes all sorts.

AgnesNaismith · 15/01/2019 19:44

Hmm I wouldn’t be ok with this. It is unprofessional of her to ask him.

SexNotJenga · 15/01/2019 19:44

Is your dp a handyman though?

flumpybear · 15/01/2019 19:45

Must be difficult for a woman on her own needing some basic DIY if they're not good at it - give her a break and hopefully your DH can help her

If he turns up and she's at the door wearing crotch less pants then maybe he should make an excuse Hmm

SexNotJenga · 15/01/2019 19:46

she must have male friends, friends with husbands

Or know a woman who is capable of putting up a curtain track. Or be able to Google and YouTube stuff for herself.

halfwitpicker · 15/01/2019 19:46

Is he fit?

They'll even tell you that shit at B&Q.

diamondofdoom · 15/01/2019 19:49

Get a grip of yourself, it's work not a bar Hmm

Giesabreak · 15/01/2019 19:51

Maybe he actually offered and then thought better of saying that, so said she asked him?

RoseOfSharyn · 15/01/2019 19:53

I had a male colleague help me move some furniture. He has a van, I don't. Another helped me paint a room. Hes tall I'm not.

I seriously hope their wives didn't think I was hitting on them!

IceCreamSunday87 · 15/01/2019 19:53

I wouldn't be ok with this, it's weird.
