Women buying leather trousers.

I thought it would be a good thing, yes

what can I say? The balance of my mind was affected

Budababe · 21/05/2007 08:43

Witnessed a horrible one. Good friends. Lovely family. 2 children. Youngest goes off to uni. Father moves out of house within weeks.

Grows goatee beard. Has girlfriend - which has obv been going on a while. Encourages his girlfriend to play tennis in a group that includes his ex-wife. Ex-wife then discovers girlfriend is using HER daughter's membership card to use the tennis club.

Attends a function with the girlfriend that the ex-wife and children are also at and spends the whole night snogging and groping girlfriend to the point that the club manager had to speak to them.

And he was very well respected till then.

Ooo tell me about the surfy hair stuff Franny.

My mates dh left her with a 3 week old baby (ar$e) - wanted his life back - goes off with his younger workmates clubbing and the like. Oddly just as she gets back on her feet and is enjoying life without him he pitches back up.

Ladymuck · 21/05/2007 08:51

In our circle it seems to be divorce so far. But everyone else is trying to maintain the image that they are too young to have a midlife crisis yet.

CODalmighty · 21/05/2007 08:52

colditz · 21/05/2007 09:11

usually a motorbike, in my parents' circles.

Then, because they haven't ridden a bike for 20 years, and bikes are 3 times faster than they used to be, they promptly fall off, drop the bike, scuff their leathers, deposit bike in the shed and tell everyone what a hardcore biker they were until they had their big smash.

lou33 · 21/05/2007 09:12

ex h ran off to thailand to "heal himself" after we split, met a 21 yr old bargirl over there (he is 45), and got her pregnant, baby was born a few weeks ago

he now has 2 families on opposite sides of the world, neither of which he can support

then tells me how much he is suffering from missing the kids we had (er noone made him go to asia ffs, but apparently the pain i caused him by having a non existent affair made him go)

CODalmighty · 21/05/2007 09:13

he goes to the top of the class lou

I went through a quarter life crisis at 25. Went a bit wild, put house on market without consulting dh, left job and went travelling for a year.

Dh's mate went through one at 40, had a fling, bought leather jacket and motor bike.
