WhatsApp called denied?

I use WhatsApp and yesterday made a video call and the call was denied.

I’ve had missed calls etc but never had this before.

Should I assume that the person I was calling didn’t want to speak to me?

I am one of the posters who said upthread that I never answer video calls because I find them obtrusive.
I find skype the same.

I also live overseas with a significant time difference, so I do get it.

This is however REALLY simple ...... I speak every day on Whatsapp to my mum/best friend/Sister/ adult daughter, you just have to send a very quick WA message "You busy, want to chat?"and they/I come back with yes/no sorry/ give me an hour etc

It's not hard, no need to be so dramatic

OP, I see where you are coming from. It is fine to decline a call but it should be followed up with a quick message over WhatsApp such as "sorry bad time for me, try later, and would prefer without video". Especially as your relationship is difficult. Denying a call and going silent isn't a sign that she wants to work on things with you. I go between contact and no contact with my own mum. As much as it breaks my heart, I'm actually happier during the no contact phases. During contact, I have to do all the running and the idea of ringing her can fill me with dread. I feel I get blamed for all her issues. Look after yourself. Some people never change, unfortunately.
