My partner has chlamydia!! Help?

Miabluesky · 15/02/2018 16:33

Hello,
(won't let me post in Sex section)
Please help me figure this out.
My childs father told me this morning that he got a positive chlamydia test.
I have recently had two periods in a month, belly ache and had strange symptoms that I blamed on stress.

The clinic can't fit me in till tomorrow but I'm pretty positive I have it too

My question is,
Should I worry about my 1 year old? I thought they tested you during the routine checks during pregnancy?
If that's not true. What will happen? Did I pass it to her?

I was all clear at the time (unless they missed chlamydia) so does that mean that my partner cheated on me since she was born but is lying about being faithful?

He says one of us must have caught it 3 years ago before we got together from an ex.
But it doesn't make sense if I was clear a year and 9 months ago.

Or did I somehow catch it? I work as a masseuse and touch people all day long.

Thank you,
Sorry about all the questions. It's a confusing disease.

Sorry ...he's cheated on you

He's risked your heath with it.

BoobleMcB · 16/02/2018 21:23

How did it go OP?

Cricrichan · 16/02/2018 21:38

I just googled testicular pain and Chlamydia doesn't come up. Other stuff like epididymis, torsion etc but not Chlamydia. It sounds like whoever he's had sex with has told him she has it and that's why he's gotten tested.

Lie to him and tell him that you checked with the doctors and you were tested when pregnant and we're all clear.

Roseandmabelshouse · 16/02/2018 21:45

So sorry you are goi f through this.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but I would imagine it's worth going to the GUM clinic yourself and have a full STI screen.

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 16/02/2018 21:48

Thinking of you op , it sounds horrendous . I'm outraged on your behalf Angry that tried to insinuate that you were to blame when clearly he knows full well he is the source.

I can only hope that his body doesn't respond well to the antibiotics and his d*ck falls off !

Sadhairdaytoday · 16/02/2018 21:48

A few people have said that it's likely that it's a recent infection based on the fact that symptoms have suddenly shown up 'after all this time'.

However I had the same with my previous partner. After 3 years of dating, he suddenly had symptoms and got checked out and found he had Chlamydia.

I will never know if he did in fact cheat on me. But I truly don't think he did. I think we both had the infection for a long time.... Long enough to damage my falopian tube and cause me to have an ectopic pregnancy years later.

I don't mean to scare you. But it's possible he is telling the truth.

CalleighDoodle · 16/02/2018 22:00

sounds like projecting and cheating

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 16/02/2018 22:07

@sadhairdaytoday but they both have recent symptoms in this instance at the exact same time....and it's known that chlamydia can cause scarring of the falopian tubes quite quickly that's why they urge people to be safe in that respect . I'm sorry you had an eptopic pregnancy but I really don't think that because you have scarring indicates you had it for a 3 year period , that can happen in a couple of months xx

You need to wait about a week for results so he is lying about when he got tested or when he got the results if he said he went yesterday...

LexieLulu · 16/02/2018 22:45

Sounds like he's been caught and is throwing the blame game

LexieLulu · 16/02/2018 22:46

No expert but google suggest one of you must have caught it recently

My partner has chlamydia!! Help?
NotTheFordType · 16/02/2018 22:55

Most private clinics will do same day results. If he saying he went to an NHS clinic then I'd question the rapidity of the results.

PeanutButterLips · 16/02/2018 23:03

Just pray he hasn't got another woman pregnant if he's having unprotected sex

upshltcreek · 17/02/2018 07:49

I recently had a test and test results at that particular clinic were taking 3 weeks.

ltsmash · 17/02/2018 23:55

@NotTheFordType The clinic i was talking about with the 4-6 hours results is an NHS clinic (Dean Street Express) and ive used various other NHS clinics (single gay male hense regular checkups) The longest ive ever had to wait for results is 5 days.

NotTheFordType · 18/02/2018 01:59

That's good to know itsmash, thanks. I might have to try Dean St next time I'm in London and due for a test.

I've waited 10 days one time but I was warned at the clinic that there were delays due to understaffing.

FallenSkies · 23/02/2018 13:59

Hi OP, I was lurking on this thread and just wanted to check you are ok? Did you manage to get the test done yourself?
