Ways to get revenge!

NeverShine4me · 18/01/2018 21:06

My husband really annoyed me tonight (he keeps moaning he is tired but reads his book too late so I can't turn off the light and sleep) and also resting his feet on the new stair carpet instead of on the hard floor, so I decided to take revenge.

I carefully cut 3 pages out of his book! How frustrating! Have you got any sneaky ways to get revenge. I also use the iPad to control sky when he is watching it and change the channel. He has know idea it is me!

Thus again? And it went so well the last time.

overnightangel · 18/01/2018 21:09

Wow you sound lovely 🙄
Grow up

witchofzog · 18/01/2018 21:10

You sound horrible. A carpet is meant for feet. Why should he rest them on a hard floor? And if you cut pages out of my book I would be very very unhappy with you. Try talking to him rather than being so passive aggressive

Justmuddlingalong · 18/01/2018 21:11

He rests his feet on the hall carpet? And you are planning revenge? Wow. Confused

NeverShine4me · 18/01/2018 21:14

EDIT- his shoes- his dirty shoes not his feet!! Argh should proof read

Cricrichan · 18/01/2018 21:15

Huh? Carpet?

Why don't you ask him to read downstairs as you can't sleep ? Surely that's more effective than cutting out pages as he won't know that's a consequence of you annoying him.

Topseyt · 18/01/2018 21:16

Small things please small minds.

You sound very immature.

NeverShine4me · 18/01/2018 21:17

I wouldn't get to sleep if he was reading downstairs and he would still be tired because of reading too long and would still moan instead of going to bed at a sensible time.

1/10. Not even a remotely good try Biscuit

NeverShine4me · 18/01/2018 21:18

We just spend thousands of pounds on new carpet and he puts shoes on them! Very much a no shoes in the house on carpets rule.

FFS.

KnittedBobbleHat · 18/01/2018 21:19

There was a thread along these lines a few weeks back and it didn't go well. Why don't you grow up and find a solution for your problems instead of playing stupid games?

NeverShine4me · 18/01/2018 21:19

It wasn't my thread!

Buy some bedside lights, ear plugs and an eye mask.

Anyone who defaces books is a monster. I would never forgive you for that.

NeverShine4me · 18/01/2018 21:25

It's not a real book- it's crime fiction. Doesn't count

OP posts:
NeverShine4me · 18/01/2018 21:26

It's not about me it's about him moaning about being tired when it is self inflicted.

Good grief.

Joysmum · 18/01/2018 21:39

Put your husband on here and we’ll give him tips on how to deal with you instead Grin

Mycashybear · 18/01/2018 21:42

Why would you not sleep if he was downstairs? Not too sure cutting pages out of a book is the answer. I do understand about the carpet if you have no shoe rule.....only that doesn’t sound like the only rule. I think you may just have made things much worse for yourself. As for the moaning you don’t have to listen, you can politely explain that it is frankly not your problem. How would you feel if DH cut up something of yours or threw it away.

AnoiaUnstickMyDrawers · 18/01/2018 21:49

Decent people don't damage books, especially other people's. I would be incredibly angry if someone did that to me. Books are precious. Yes, even crime fiction.

Buy him a book light so you can have the room light off. Buy him a new copy of his wrecked book. Apologise for being mean and give your head a wobble.

Presumably he paid towards the stair carpet / it was bought with family money, so he has as much right as you do to decide if it has shoes on it or not.

OnionKnight · 18/01/2018 21:50

Your husband should LTB.

SandyY2K · 19/01/2018 00:10

This is so childish and not indicative of someone mature enough for marriage.

beforetheafters · 19/01/2018 00:13

You sound delightful Hmm

CommanderDaisy · 19/01/2018 00:19

And ask your husband to read downstairs and get over yourself.
You can't sleep if he reads in bed, you can't sleep if he reads downstairs, you cut pages out of his book.
What do you have against reading?

LineysRuff · 19/01/2018 00:23

How long are his legs???
