Is this suspicious?

Out at a cafe at the weekend with DH + kids. DH took some photos of the children on his phone. He then took youngest to the toilets and I decided to WhatsApp the pictures he'd taken to myself. The top of his contacts list was a picture of a very attractive younger woman (I'd guess early 20s). No name, just a number. What was odd, was the format of the number. It had dashes in, so, for example using different numbers, 079-123-45678.

The dashes struck me as odd - surely if you phoned or messaged a number like that it wouldn't work, which made me wonder why he has it stored like that, and also i obviously wonder who she is.

He works in a building with 300 others, and I don't know 99% of them. So this could be work colleague.

I guess my mind did leap to something dodgy.

Although I don't have any reason to suspect infidelity, I do feel our relationship is a bit... stale. I know he isn't happy with our (lack of a) sex life, and he has a high sex drive.

It could be innocent. But i keep thinking about it.

Anyone know what these dashes might mean?

I reckon he's coded the number I. E. It'll be a mixture of numbers on a different sequence to what it's saved as.

So the real number will be 079 45678 123 or something.

Desmondo, no it more likely means she's a saved contact with no name.

If a work colleague from abroad gave him her number he might just whack it in his phone without adding a name, just as a way of storing it or something. Then instead of a name appearing, it just shows the number.

I have a few in my contacts list because I'm lazy and it takes time to add a name.

Put that in f book and see

Add it to your phones contact list. See if the same photo comes up on your whatsapp

If I have no name saved to a contact, it comes up as number first in Contacts which you're right about, nothing to do with frequency. If you had clicked on her name you might have brought up any previous chat messages with her?

Just ask DH - mystery will then be solved

Sounds like an American number. Did it start with 001-213-4567 for example? That is a very typical (random) American number.

If I asked him, I'm 100% confident he would lie if he was up to no good.

It could obviously be innocent though

If you're confident he'll lie then ask him outright, listen to his story then call her there and then on loud speaker.

You obviously have enough suspicion to have posted here so maybe have it out with him and ask.

If you have Facebook messenger app Put the number into your phone without dashes. It will show up in your messenger list as to who it is if they have a fb profile.

As I said a while ago. Thats his imported contacts, not his conversations. Could have come from his phone years ago. I think he's innocent.

So nothing comes up on Google or reverse google image search?

Yeah agreed that that isn't his frequently contacted. That's just a list of contacts and because no number saved it will show at the top.

Why don't you add the number to your phone? You can then search your own whatsapp to see the picture/link it to your facebook contacts and see if they have a profile?

It strikes me off that he hasn't saved the number with a name - but I'm not sure if I'd be convinced he's been cheating.

I've got loads of numbers in my phone with no names, as they're work things. I've no clue who most of them are now.

I get randoms contacting me on whatsapp, and until I reject and block they come up in that kind of format. If there was no conversation maybe that's what happened?
