How often do you cry?

Just wondering how often women on here cry. Admittedly, going through trauma can cause constant sadness, but I’m intrigued to see what people write.

Hardly ever, probably about 2 years ago and that was watching a film.

I'm just not very emotional.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 22/09/2017 19:31

Quite often, caused by different things.

Hormones- when I have pmt, ill usually have a bit of a row with Dh, I'll think we need to divorce(thankfully I don't voice this) and cry. As soon as my period starts I'll be like "wtf was all that about"Grin

Missing people who have died, makes me cry, especially when I've had a drink.

Horrible stuff happening in the world makes me cry. I've recently stopped watching as much news and it's done me good.

Crumbs1 · 22/09/2017 19:32

Rarely in 'real life' but at a gooey film occasionally.

Ditto

Never. It doesn't mean I'm not sad, though. I just can't.

I wasn't allowed to cry as a child an d I think it's force of habit now....

PeaceAndLove1 · 22/09/2017 19:40

All the time, seemingly the smallest of things sometimes, mostly not sad crying though. Funny, I was on the thread "what women called periods in the 50's", that set me off thinking about when there wasn't contraception like there is today and the woman prayer for their period and the relief of not being pregnant. How the woman must have suffered.

Biggreygoose · 22/09/2017 19:47

Last time was about 3 years ago at the funeral of a 6 week old boy born to friends of ours at about the same time our DS was born.

Before that i was probably about 8/9 the last time I cried. DW is convinced I'm broken.

Apparently I very very rarely cried even as a little kid.

MsAwesomeDragon · 22/09/2017 19:55

I don't cry very often. I did once last month as dh and I had an argument. Before that I can't remember when I last cried.

My eyes mist up a bit at sad parts in books, films, etc, but not proper crying.

About 5 years ago my answer would have been very different as I was grieving. But most of the time it takes quite a lot to make me cry.

PeaceAndLove1 · 22/09/2017 20:01

By this thread so far I'm quite surprised at how little most people cry, I'd recommend it if you can, feels much better after you've had one imo.

Cavender · 22/09/2017 20:12

Peace your post assumes that everyone who doesn’t cry is sad and bottling it up which isn’t necessarily true.

Some people may express it in other ways and others are just mostly happy.

PeaceAndLove1 · 22/09/2017 20:19

I didn't mean it to sound like that, that's why I said if you can and imo.

Fluerdelea · 22/09/2017 20:21

Everyday...

Flopjustwantscoffee · 22/09/2017 20:29

I cry when I'm angry, which is several times a day to be honest. It's very annoying because it's one of the least helpful response to being angry I can think of.

phoenix1973 · 22/09/2017 20:32

Hardly ever. I used to cry alot. I know if i start I'll never be able to stop, its best to be numb so i can function.

PeaceAndLove1 · 22/09/2017 20:56

Ah PhoenixFlowers

Movingon1611 · 22/09/2017 21:00

Too much for my liking.

Embarrassed, cry
Angry, cry
Upset, cry
Proud, cry
Happy, cry

It's ridiculous

Juststopit · 22/09/2017 21:01

Spent the last 6 months crying nearly everyday. Separated last month and now not cried for 2 weeks! Verging on happy. Thank god.

CPtart · 22/09/2017 21:04

I have shed a thousand tears since my DM was killed in a car accident last year. Otherwise, very rarely.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 22/09/2017 21:07

Flowers for everyone going through horrible times.

Pinky333777 · 22/09/2017 21:12

I hear ya @movingon1611

LexieLulu · 22/09/2017 21:18

I can't remember the last time, I'm not a big cryer.

When I do tho, the heavens open

Brahms3rdracket · 22/09/2017 21:41

Very, very rarely.

Eolian · 22/09/2017 21:44

Hardly ever. I cried about a year ago when I really hurt myself and before that the last time was about 3 years previously. I'm counting any amount including an odd tear.

tellmetellme · 22/09/2017 21:46

Hardly ever. Only when separated from my darling children.

Makesmilingyourbesthobby · 22/09/2017 21:51

30 years old & would often cry happiness/sadness, but haven't cried at all since the day I went to see my father at the funeral directors after we lost him back last November, changed my emotions forever I think
