How long after getting married did you have your first argument?

Just that really, only been married 3 weeks and dh is being a proper dick the last couple of days......fed up already.....

In the car on the way to the airport for the honeymoon. I assumed that was standard

About an hour, his dickhead friend thought it appropriate to spray champagne all over me on arrival at our reception destroying my dress and shoes. I spent the evening in trackies and a t-shirt and was called 'boring' for not wanting pictures taken.

We were together a long time before we got married so there was no real difference afterwards. I don't think we actually had an argument on the day, but we will definitely have had one the day after - we bicker about something most days.

Oh I can't remember but it can't have been long! We'd been together for 7 years previously so we weren't exactly newlyweds

Probably two days later when I decided I didn't want to go on honeymoon as I didn't want to leave the cats for that long. I did go but made mil send me daily photos of cats (they were fine!).

Had a massive one during honeymoon when arriving at our penultimate hotel and hated it as it made me feel on edge despite being beautifully decorated, something just felt off.

Are you worried op? What's he been doing?

Arguments are ok imo, they don't mean you have a bad relationship. How you deal with an argument is very telling. Communication is key.

In the plane on the way out to honeymoon. We probably have rowed every couple of months since then.

I've tried pretty much daily but he's so bloody placid and understanding we don't argue at all.

He's just being a knob, one of my kids was apparently 'rude' to him and it's caused a horrible atmosphere in the house for the last 2 days. I don't think he was rude at all and he's pissed off at me for not backing him up. We go on our honeymoon this weekend and right now I just want to stay at home :-/

It’ll be two weeks on Saturday, and we made it to....Sunday, so that’s 8 days. It was because he was stressed as he had to go away for four weeks the following day and he did not react well when I asked one too many questions about “the plan”.

On the upside, between this and the six month tour he’s going on we’ll have little opportunity to bear out the “first year of marriage is when you have the most rows” trope which one of my best chums insists is the case.

At the evening reception! He wouldn't make a speech thanking everyone for coming before buffet opening then spent the rest of the night with his work friends ignoring all our other guests. There was no consummating that night Grin

Aww Bitzy. By the sound of it and other PPs this is normal. Enjoy your honeymoon. They say the first year is the hardest! We are 8 months in now and settling down nicely.

I tried to pick one when we went to bed. I went to bed about an hour before him told me he 'wouldn't be long' I was tired, sad at how quickly it went and grumpy because I couldn't get out of my dress. He rolls in really drunk and quickly falls asleep. I laugh now but was really pissed off at the time. I just wanted to chat about the day. Can't complain though, so far he's been a wonderful husband.

My friend had a huge argument on her honeymoon. Divorced 3 months later.

Marriages are not and should never be a shield against an argument. Did you never argue before OP or did you think that the ring on your finger would change things.

DP and I have argued before and after the wedding. Rare and low level and no sulking but getting married wasnt about changing our relationship dynamic. It was about trying to establish a level of permanency.

A day.

He had committed both of us to going bowling with his family the day after our wedding. I was shattered and it was one of the last things I wanted to do so was annoyed he agreed to go on my behalf. We argue quite a lot but this was a big one, despite the fact it may sound stupid to most.
