Men in dungarees

Was out with my boyfriend the other weekend and we went into a vintage shop in Shoreditch.
He tried on ended up buying a pair of dungarees
I was kinda surprised but he said he'd always wanted to get some so didn't think much of it.
He wore them today for the first time when we went into town and I was kinda shocked how much I dug it.
He looked so scrummy in them!
Dunno what it was but something about the straps, the bib flap and buckles that made me all hot and flustered.
Phew!

Anyone else experienced this, or am I going crazy?

I like running my hands over a stonewashed bib and flappy straps too, watching all that denim bunch around the groinal area when in a seated position.

Is that the kind of anecdote you want, OP?

PricklyBall · 01/11/2017 22:48

Groinal area... snort.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 02/11/2017 16:14

I've come over all unnecessary, too, OP.

Shoreditch has that effect on me.

Anyone else think the OP is a dungaree-addicted man looking for a bit of validation?

JemIsMyNameNooneElseIsTheSame · 02/11/2017 16:16

Dungaree troll?

SweetChickadee · 02/11/2017 16:18

Anyone using the word "scrummy" deserves the ridicule, IMO. Grin

oh dear lord! Grin

"Grandpa Walton always used to only have one strap done up all nonchalant like.
I always thought how dangerous it looked what with him working in the sawmill and all."

Simpler times, Bore...when a man could manual labour, unpestered by a Health And Safety-approved dress code.

(Maybe threat of fatal industrial injury to Grandpa was why the entire family spent 3 hrs on individual Good Night wishes?).

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 02/11/2017 16:40

^ Damn, got WhoreOfBabyliss mixed up with BoreOfWhabylon...apologies, both! Grin

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 02/11/2017 16:49

Ok, I've tried very hard & I'm sorry but can't imagine any man would look good, never mind fuckable, in a pair of dungarees... Hmm

HipsterAssassin · 02/11/2017 19:41

My ExH (who underwent a full Hipster transformation when I left him) wears them. I love him in them because he looks like a grandpa Walton - haha!!! The world is a brighter place when he is wearing them because his dungarees are a comedy gift that keeps on giving! I'm all for it as long is it's not someone I'm supposed to sleep with

topcat2014 · 02/11/2017 20:02

I just know I would look a complete tit in them, although hopefully not as godawful as some of the pics upthread.

Might be fun to try some on though, just to see.

Not sure I could leave the house though.

iklboo · 03/11/2017 09:54

What's your stance on lederhosen?

Don't ever read the Sunday Post. The pictures of Oor Wullie in his dungarees would make you come over all peculiar.

Hoppinggreen · 03/11/2017 09:57

My DH is German, he has a proper pair of Lederhosen
Can't say they get me excited though

Dungaree troll? Just when you thought you'd seen everything

HebeMumsnet · 03/11/2017 09:59

Well. This is niche.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 03/11/2017 17:05

"What's your stance on lederhosen?"

Surely the only sane response to this vision is paroxysms of desire, iklboo.

Here are two ‘hipster’ versions. My ex started wearing skinny jeans and pointed shoes - he looks ridiculous as has really skinny legs and massive feet.
