Taking razor to work

My gf is taking her razor to work with her in her handbag. I don't understand why. Is this normal? Why would you do this?

Is she shaving at work?

EngagedWithALeaf · 11/07/2017 10:21

I can think of some reasons - but why can't you just ask her?

Brahms3rdracket · 11/07/2017 10:21

Is there a history of self harm?

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 11/07/2017 10:23

Ask her?

Desmondo2016 · 11/07/2017 10:24

Does she go to the gym after work?

SnowLeopard6 · 11/07/2017 10:30

I want to ask her but don't want to think i'm accusing her of something.
I'm hoping it's completely normal.

Doesn't go to the gym after work.

Good question - is she shaving at work? If she is, then I don't understand why.

No history of self harm. Or evidence of it at the moment.

Why would you shave at work and not at home?

How did you notice it in her bag?

SnowLeopard6 · 11/07/2017 10:34

Yes saw it in there. Was getting her car keys out.

Maybe she forgot to do her armpits in the shower and is wearing a sleeveless top? So she plans to give them a quick going over at work? I can think of stranger things.

NerrSnerr · 11/07/2017 10:36

What on earth would you be accusing her of? Just ask her if you're curious?

RoganJosh · 11/07/2017 10:39

I'd just ask her then.

Desmondo2016 · 11/07/2017 10:39

Is she quite dark haired. Maybe she has excess hair she likes to get rid of half way through the day

Nainer123 · 11/07/2017 10:39

Maybe she didn't have time to pluck her eyebrows and thought she would take it as a quick fix. Why didnt you just ask her at the time? I bet there is a totally rational explanation

EBearhug · 11/07/2017 10:39

We have showers at work, which are used by people who cycle in or go to the gym. Some people may well shave in there, too. Never asked anyone.

If she's taking only a razor, no towel or shower gel or anything, that might be odd, but there could still be a reason.

There are all sorts of things people seem to think are normal - like the guy we had visiting who walked round with phone headphones on while shaving his chin with an electric razor. That was... interesting behaviour in the middle of an open plan office.

EssieTregowan · 11/07/2017 10:40

Maybe she was in the bathroom and absentmindedly picked up her razor instead of her deodorant. We've all done it or maybe just me.

OnlyAQuickNC · 11/07/2017 10:41

Hmm why do you care if it's normal or not? Why not just ask her?

CabernetSauvignyoni · 11/07/2017 10:49

I sometimes throw a razor in my bag for days where I'm wearing a short sleeved top or am planning to go to the gym and didn't get the chance to do my underarms at home in the morning - because I'm lazy it will often stay there for a while until I remember to take it out.

SnowLeopard6 · 11/07/2017 10:52

No showers at work, doesn't take a towel, or anything else.

Thank you for some of the explanations. Forgot to do armpits, sounds like a very reasonable thing to do. Hadn't thought of that. That's the sort of thing i was hoping to hear.

What I was worried about was that she was taking it to work to quickly go over her legs or something if she was meeting someone for whom she wanted them to be nice and smooth..but hadn't had time in the morning

paranoid or what

OP posts:
OnlyAQuickNC · 11/07/2017 11:12

Do you have a reason to be paranoid? Has she ever given any indication that she is meeting someone else?

Vari757 · 11/07/2017 11:15

Bloody hell you do sound paranoid. I have all sorts of things in my handbag even lighters when I don't even smoke.
And btw just to let you know, women don't do things specifically for mens pleasure. I shave my legs because it's my god damn body and I'll do what I like with it... It's not to please anyone!!

Barbaro · 11/07/2017 11:18

That is very strange. Just ask her. If she gets annoyed that you're asking her, you know its suspicious.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 11/07/2017 11:22

I always have a razor in my toiletries bag at work in case of needing to tidy up my armpits or ankles.

Brahms3rdracket · 11/07/2017 11:25

Wow that's paranoid. Has she done anything to warrant that level of suspicion? If not, you really need to work on your self esteem before she has enough and dumps you.

SnowLeopard6 · 11/07/2017 11:33

Lots of reasons! (but only in my opinion, maybe all valid, maybe none)

Lots of old friends and exes and people she works with get in touch and asks if she's single, like a weekly occurrence for a while. Regularly talking to many of them on fb messenger or whatsapp. She even told me she text an ex recently just to say hi. Another time she went for coffee with an electrician who did some work at her house to give him some mortgage advice ( she's not a mortgage advisor). I asked her once why so many people ask her out, she said she had no idea and told me she was going to stop telling me about it. Which she has, so it either doesn't happen anymore or she just doesn't tell me. All just left me feeling very insecure.

As a couple we don't go out on wild nights out, the first and last time we did, she was all over some bloke on the dance floor, arms round his neck, dragging him round by the hand. Spoke to her about it the next day - she said it meant nothing.

I could go on...
